The race swap for Snape is still one of the most mind boggling things.
Will not watch solely due to this choice.

I’m even race swapping Dumbledore would have made more sense.
Sirius would have made more sense.

Over a year ago, you’re late to the party, she’s been kicked to the curb.
She confirmed she's not writing individual episodes. She was never going to write the episodes. No one lied about her involvement.

Yep, shes in the GRRM role for A knight of the seven kingdoms. Once the scripts are finalized theres not much for her to do.

As much as I enjoyed the movie series, from PoA on they changed so many crucial storylines that affected character motivations. All those movies other than the first two needed two movies each to get everything in. But just like Game of Thrones, Hollywood going to Hollywood things.

are they filming yet? Its going to be 5 years before this show comes out and all the kids are going to be college age.
They are, some on set photos have leaked a while back. The ones I saw are of Harry and Hagrid walking together

They seem to do the opposite of what is needed The Hobbit definitely did not have the content for three movies but they milked that one out as much as they could.

Not sure if I'd consider Inside the Magic a legit source of info. Most of their articles are bait and switch clickbait with titles like "Disney to Close Beloved Tomorrowland Icon" and when you click on the article it turns out they temporarily closed a food cart.

There is no chance that this show measures up to the original series. Not because it can't be a well-done show, but because fans of OG potter have the nostalgia element and this romantic view of what they remember those movies to be. This has no chance to capture that.
That's really what puzzles me. A spinoff of the Marauder Years or the early life of Tom Riddle would be fantastic and would generate huge buzz regardless of who they cast in supporting roles. Literally no one wanted this

I love the books and I’m not crazy about the movies. I don’t think doing an authentic hbo series that is an authentic love letter to the books is really that difficult an undertaking on the surface. It doesn’t have to be reimagined in any way.
Outside of HBP, the books were faithful enough. We really don't need to completely redo them for garden de-gnoming scenes and the like
