You mean when the show was well produced and funny before Trey and Matt became lazy sell out hacks?
I would, however, agree that seasons 3-10 were some of the funniest TV content ever made. My guess is that as they've gotten older and their circumstances in life have evolved, their humor has as well.

Season 8 is freaking great. I'm a little more partial to Season 5 personally.
