Read it was basically Breaking Bad but not near as good. Laura Linney is great and Jason Bateman is solid. Was looking forward to this, but reviews are meh. Anyone have early takes on this show?

The reviews I'm reading look pretty good. Has an 86% on the tomato.

Watched first episode....really solid. Jason Bateman is really good....not digging Laura Linney but she does a nice slut piece.

Been watching the first few episodes tonight. It's ok. The first episode seemed really promising with a very dark feel right off the bat. Characters and plot seems somewhat shallow in parts to make a show with this dark of a premise feel not quite convincing. Not bad at all so far though, and I'm enjoying it. Depending on how it goes it could teeter between being enjoyable and just being silly. It seems like one of those shows that might walk that edge.

On the second episode, and it is a decent show. I see Jason Bateman is also director and producer, as well s the star.
When family does not obey and it turns to shite, grrrrr. I've told mine, if I say god damn it you do this and don't ask any fricking questions, you better fricking do it unless you are a retard who wants to die.
I also like that there are no opening credits/theme songs to deal with. Binge on without interruption.

I just finished it. It was definitely worth watching. As some of the reviews mention, parts of the show are ridiculous, but Bateman and Linney do a good job and the kids aren't too annoying. The best episodes are the bookends, so if you don't like episode 1, then you don't need to continue.

Just finished the series and I feel dead inside. I did like it overall, but I just feel dirty after binge watching shows as an uber productive gen-x-er.
I give it a 6/10 (I threw an extra point in there for the sheer quantity of titties).
