The horrible opinions I find on this board are truly incredible. But this place would be boring if everyone agreed.

I think of the people nominated, I'd vote for her (Essie Davis and Rosamund were the two best female leads this year IMO). I can understand disagreeing that she should win, but I don't know how you call that performance "ordinary."

Just saw Foxcatcher. Really liked it. Don't think Carell was better than Gyllenhaal or Oyelowo though.

Carell bothers me in the trailers, but I'm going to have to see it I guess.

Carell was great. Hope he wins. I think Ruffalo should be getting more praise - amazing job

I'm saying Simmons should be a lock.

Moore in Still Alice was very good but so was Pike. Two horse race.

Would love to see Carrel or Cumberpatch win.

I think Dern takes BSA.

Best Pucture - Whiplash.

You know it was a weak movie year.

What did you think of American Sniper?

I thought Cooper was pretty good. But overall, I thought the movie was very meh. It had no storyline. Yes, it was a war movie that showed the effects it can have on home life. But it just didn't do much for me.

Cumberbatch hit the marks in Imitation Game!

Still can't believe Oyelowo didn't receive a nomination. The Brits had quite a year.

Watched the Live Action Shorts. I really liked all of them but I think Butter Lamp was my favorite. Anyone else catch these?

It's going to be a very boring year for the Oscars this year. The only drama will be for Best Lead Actor. Moore, Simmons, Arquette and Linklater are all stone cold locks to win in their respective category. I guess Best Picture could get interesting but I have a hard time seeing Boyhood losing.

Considering Linklater didnt win DGA, I wouldn't call him a lock at all.
