What was with his severe/sick coughing seemingly only during the scenes where he was filming with the little girl and that western episode?

The tension of the first scene with AL Pacino is built around Rick's inability to articulate himself. He is constantly making noise with his mouth, but can hardly get a word out.

Also, it seems pretty obvious that Cliff did kill his wife, based on what he was capable of.

I don't think this was meant to be ambiguous.

I assumed it was smoker's cough. I think he had a cigarette in every scene.

Yeah, several of them seemed to have a cigarette in every sense. It just seemed that the coughing was much more pronounced and severe at that point in the movie.

Hippie hitch hiker was great. very close to the truth there. Pretty blonde did a good Sharon Tate. Fell asleep, would not go again.

Did anyone notice a slight stutter in DiCaprio’s character?

Yep. That was awesome. It was almost unnoticeable, but DiCaprio seals it when he lashes out at himself for being a stutterer.

That’s why I made the comment about the stutter. It was present throughout the movie, except when he was filming a scene.

Basterds: bad

Youve been an insufferable basterd in this thread

IB is a modern masterpiece. Visually, dialogue, storytelling, suspenseful moments. Hans landa and aldo raine are two HOF tarantino characters. Christopher waltz is an absolute revelation in this

Your opinion is garbage

First of all. It's only a movie, not a political or social movement. Calm your mind.

With that out of the way.

It's not a "modern masterpiece". It's an overly talky yawner. Visually it's just a movie, there's nothing at all special or unique about the cinematography. The dialogue was long winded and the characters were poorly directed on when to shut up and move on.

Hans landa was a good character but brad pitt as aldo raine brought nothing more to the table other than a bad accent and the word "naatzee".

My opinion is garbage? Oky doky.

Your opinion is a loose peanutty turd.

Pimp of Cliff to not pick her up on the first two passes.

I don’t think I’d have had his restraint.

What's sadder is that you seem to think these are the smart kid movies.

I had a couple before I went in, and it was cozy in there. Movie was slow, too.

Me neither, partner. Fine as cream gravy, that one.

So, is this board really so full of old men that forgot to take their afternoon naps before going to the theater, or are these guys just lieing about falling asleep to exaggerate to make their point?

Actually I frequently fall asleep in theaters with the recliners but I was awake through this one.

I enjoyed it, not really a big Tarantino fan but it was alright. I did kind of have the ending pegged early on, was interesting to try to figure out how he was going to get there.

I am old enough to pick up some historical inaccuracies regarding the timing of some of the background pop culture references but that wasn't important, it was more about the era.

Margoe Robbie is a damn good looking woman and Sharon Tate was too, but that is obvious.

The whole did not live up to the sum of its parts. Leonardo and Brad were incredible but the movie dragged, the story was unfocused and disorganized in a way that bordered on boring.
I totally understand why people fell asleep...my wife snoozed for about 20 minutes and when she asked me what she missed, I had nothing for her...

I think this is a film Hollywood will love but misses the mark for most. I liken it to Tarantino jerking off, he made a movie with the actors he wanted, the time period he wanted with long artistic shots that added little to the quality of the film...just made it 45 minutes too long. He has lost the ability to tell a good story.

You also have to remember that all of QT’s movies are set in the same alternate world, where things like the death of Hitler in the theater really happened.

Well I know about minor details like that but Dyke Van Dyke's show ended in 1966 so nobody was interviewing Morey Amsterdam and Rose Marie in 1969 dammit!

Okay this was not my favorite film of his or even close to it. Most the movie was not necessary. There was literally a point I thought, “why are we still on this scene?” Big DiCaprio fan and his character didn’t do much for me. Pitt’s character was the best thing about this movie and that’s with Margot Robbie being in it. Literally the three best scenes (most funny) had Pitt in it. Still can’t decide where to rank this one yet out of his movies. But it’s in the back half.
