And where did the '12 detectives get such nice suits and ties in Vermillion Parish?
Vermilion only has one "l".
(am I being nitpicky enough for this thread?

I'm fascinated by this show. The season premiere was a homerun.

Thatguy I have a feeling the narration is either setting us up as a unreliable narrator or its so obvious that they are speaking to us particularly Rustin. Do you get that feeling as well?
Can't really tell. From what I've read they're telling something of four stories at once. I know one thing, this was one of the best first episodes of anything I have ever seen. But like most things I'm going to hold my judgement till the very end. I've never been big on judging episode by episode. I judge by a whole season. It's like judging a book chapter by chapter. What's the point if you're going to judge the whole book when you recommend it people.

Just watched the first episode and my very first reaction when they were in the cane field was "no one around Erath talks like that. No one around sugar cane fields talks like that."
Other than that, I thought it was a very good first episode. I believe this will be a very good show. The wife was just telling me Sunday how much she wishes a good show would come on now that BB is over.

I'm with you brother. I know it's certainly not a dead accurate portrayal of our life's as louisianians, Cajuns, or really lafayettians, but it's not supposed to be. It is an artistic rendering. An artistic rendering that I'm seeing sheer brilliance coming through.
This show will be a treat. I knew it was going to be good. I didn't expect it to be THIS good.

I almost wish this show had more yats and vodoo just to see what this thread would be like.

Anyone else think the killer hasn't been introduced yet?

Watching the pilot again. I find it interesting that Rust's files from Texas are all classified.

If the season is awesome and I am wrong I will eat crow but I just don't see how they could make him the killer.
It goes back SFP point few pages back. He can't hold back his personality to fit into society no way he can pull off being dexter.

I agree
Defiantly a crazy white dude though. That's serial killer profile 101
