I can't believe this is about to happen but I'm kind of agreeing with Carson on this one. Not saying it looks bad, but I didn't see the trailer and go WOW.

What's happening? Everything seems bleeker? I now hate all my favorite movies.... Am I becoming a snob? It's a dark dark spiral......

IMO people are overinflating the "Leo/Scorcese OMGZ!!" aspect and ignoring everything else. The trailer was pretty underwhelming for me personally.

Id agree with this.

Looks alright, but that trailer was obnoxious.

Are you implying that this is a bad thing?

I didn't really think about it either way, it's a competent trailer for a "rise and fall" movie.

It just looks like a Gatsby prequel set in the present

Does anyone else feel letdown when Scorsese's next film is not a mob flick?

You are revered on here, while I'm detested, so I'm not surprised

I think it's perfectly valid to be underwhelmed at this point. The trailer is admittedly ridiculous and doesn't convey a whole lot of substance. I'm inclined to believe that's not the case, however, because of the track record of the individuals involved. I could be wrong, but I feel the benefit of the doubt is valid here.

Honestly I like the trailer simply because it doesnt show much of the meat of the movie. Too many trailers these days show you the entire plot of the movie and this one just gives you a vague suspicion that the FBI will be bad news for Leo. Therefore I like it. But yes it was way over the top.

It kinda reminded me of an outlandish rap video, and a rap video isn't gonna make or break me liking the song.

Kinda this. Are people excited about it only because of Leo and Scorsese? Or was it the flashiness of the trailer? I'm not excited about it. I hope it surprises me though.

Leo hasn't done much wrong recently, so it probably deserves to by hyped
Gatsby wasn't great, J. Edgar was a snoozer. I liked Django though. He hasn't been perfect lately, but he is still a fine actor.

Will see four times in theaters. Minus three. Equals one. I will see this once in theaters.

ETA: This movie simply looks like the original Wall Street film on more coke and prettier actors. I'm in!

Well put. Flashier and with big name actors/director.
