quote:
Jaimee Foxworth began modeling at the age of five, soon appeared in national television advertisements, and ultimately landed the role of Judy Winslow, the youngest of the Winslow family's three children, on the long-running sitcom Family Matters. After the introduction of Steve Urkel (Jaleel White), Foxworth's scenes were reduced significantly. The combination of the character having little to do on the show, and Foxworth's request for a raise in salary, caused producers to simply write her off the series after its fourth season.
The character disappeared without explanation. The Winslows act as though Judy never existed, acknowledging they only have two children: Eddie (Darius McCrary) and Laura (Kellie Shanygne Williams)
OMFG HOW DID I MISS THIS!!?!?

Also, FWIW, I don't watch Talking Dead at all. They talk about way too much comic shite for me to be interested in that. I don't care that people watch it, but I choose not to because I only want to ingest TWD via the actual show. That's just me though.
This thread isn't labeled as "no talking dead." You shouldnt be in here if you don't want to learn things that are talked about on the official AMC companion show. That show is discussed in these threads every week.
You've been here long enough to know talking dead is discussed in these threads every week.

He means Judy just disappeared without a trace.

bullshite, she was a liability to them or any other survivors. That rabid dog needed to be put down.
Exactly. There was no changing her mind. They tried to, but sadly, it took her actually killing her sister for Carol to realize that she was incapable of being helped.
And in any situation where you have to kill someone, you do it. You don't tie her up and make her starve to death (good Lord

Maybe they plan to slowly brainwash them into joining their little cult, who knows without confirmation?
When Glenn said "these guys are our friends", I actually thought he was referring to the people outside of the box car. I was thinking they were all drugged or brainwashed into thinking these outside people were their masters or something. It took me a couple seconds to realize he was talking about Abraham, scientist, and tits.

This could certainly be a possibility, but would that make them any less cannibalistic?
I just edited my previous post to add this:
quote:
ETA: My point is that cannibalism may not be their primary goal of capturing more people. Nobody wants another Woodbury, but that was a different type of Utopian cult than what this may be.
Not that it matters much--they're still freaks.

Like someone else posted earlier, they may not want to eat ALL of them, but have those who are "like-minded" join them.

I think they were feeling them out. They need to grow to survive as well and they probably all came from different places.
When Rick's group arrived, Rick had the advantage in a fight as they got in the back door and they were not ready. That's why they gave them the guns back--Rick's group was clearly prepared and cautious.
Obviously when Rick grabbed the dude about the watch it was on. He said something like "trust has been broken" and there was no going back.

No they wouldn't.
What the hell makes you say that?
it's like you feel like nonreaders are so incompetent that we can't manage to discuss the show among ourselves and need your help and guidance. Don't you see how uppity and assholish that sounds? Come the frick on, man.

look I understand some people are super sensitive about anything that might be mentioned about the comics...but really go on any other board that discusses these TV shows and you will inevitably not find what you are looking for.

Can't you just ban this goon?

If they left her alive she would have eventually died or worse turned. The only humane thing to do was to put a bullet in her head.
I think darryl didn't want to admit to himself that she was kidnapped and he couldn't stop it and might had of had a little something to do with it.

Eh I don't think the threads would be that long...not many people tend to spur discussion with their posts

--cannibalism will possibly occur...this was hinted at by some posters several episodes back. Yeah, it might have been an inevitable situation in a post-apocalyptic world, and some of those speculating about it may have been non-readers, but some people seemed to know this would happen in TWD episodes coming up soon.
I think it was season one, when they came across the mexicans in that hospital, a reader came in and was like "I wonder if these are the cannibals??!?" It pissed a lot of people off at the time, and ever since then, I knew that we would see cannibalism at some point. Because some a-hole reader spoiled it for nonreaders.

but those who "hint" at stuff do kind of ruin some of the buildup for things that non-readers might like to discover on their own.

because I do want it to be a bit of a surprise
Exactly. It takes away from the show and ruins it when you already know what's coming. Readers don't get that, and they'd rather be in your thread helping you out and guiding your thoughts along than just sitting back and watching your unbiased thoughts unfold in the nonreader thread. It's fricking stupid and it sucks.

He already answered that question. The character he mentioned was discussed on talking dead earlier on in the season. Fact is there's no way what he stated in this thread could be accurate, and he misspelled the character's name. No comic reader would think what he stated could be the case.
Actually, he said he heard a name and googled it, and then posted about it on here.

How is that any different from "cannibalism is frowned upon in America?" Shows me that the people of this world are "extremely desperate."
Cannibalism as a rare supplement when you're close to starving is one thing, cannibalism as a daily lifestyle choice is quite another. Desperation means you've been on the move for weeks and haven't eaten, not you've been sitting in your compound full of space to grow vegetables and raise livestock and decide you'd rather eat any humans that come your way.
If they actually were using all of the empty space for food cultivation and just had too many mouths to feed I'd find it more believable than the current set up of plenty of potential to cultivate food and actively choosing not to.

is it far fetched to think they do their own reloading? i have a friend in miami who reloads his own bullets and its amazing how many rounds he can crank out in a day.
if they hit some type of gunpowder stash, they could easily have some dudes' full time jobs making ammo.
I've thought about that before because my godfather reloads his own ammo for skeet shooting. But he does it with some cool arse machines that, if I'm not mistaken, require electricity (or if they don't, it's a pain in the arse to do it by hand).
But you'd have to run across an almost endless cache of materials to be able to reload ammo for all the different kinds of weapons they had. It's possible, I guess, but highly improbable.

not really. and yes, you can do it without electricity.
as long as they gather the used casings, this is little more than the right combination of gunpowder & shite.
eta maybe we should move this discussion to the outdoor board

They weren't broadcasting a radio signal with telepathy. They have some level of electricity.
