I don't think it leaks before the new season. If I was them I'd start the new season with the same exact scene but filmed without POV. That way all the actors are there. They probably film multiple versions to keep it a secret.

I agree
the realization that they were helpless and trapped slowly dawning on them was good TV. and the enormity of the adversary having not occurred to them makes an excellent set up for the next season
ricks group have overcome every adversary so far relatively quickly, it's going to be a new dynamic for the time to come which is what the show needed. I don't think knowing who got the bat matters as far as the finale goes, we will find out soon enough

What annoys me is how cast members played it up saying how hard it was to shoot. Said it was BS on pg1.

Are you kidding me? This episode leaked two weeks ago. As soon as they start shooting the next season, who met Lucille will leak. They won't be able to keep that a secret once they start shooting this summer.

Well that's kind of the point, the audience watches and gets a payoff at the end. This was gimmicky writing that destroyed the impact of what probably could have been one of the best scenes in the show.

I think it would have been much better to have shown who died. Now, I feel like when next season starts it will be an "oh by the way, so and so is dead" moment. They spent the entire episode building up the tension which will fizzle out during the break.

Looks like a travel channel show. He has plenty of time to film both. But that was my initial reaction also

Why do you guys think it is for sure not Carl? Watch the last scene again and what Negan says. He says not to make a move etc and if so feed the eye to his father And then we will get started. Sounded to me like he could be talking to Carl and if anyone did anything to stop him he would make it worse. I don't think it's him for sure but don't think he can be excluded.

Because feeding the eye of a dead Carl is a diminished threat. Plus there may be many main characters, but they are the main main characters. Untouchables.

To be honest,my interest has been waning the last couple of episodes and I only watched the last 1/2 hour of this one. Not gonna say I won't watch anymore but that ending certainly doesn't make it more likely for me to do so. I don't really care that much which character it was that got it actually.
