we obviously need to add "NO SFP" to future Walking Dead (or for that matter, every Movie/TV Board thread) threads. He completely derailed this thread. And, he derailed every single True Detective thread.
Hey SFP, go back to the OT and let the rest of us have normal conversations.
There was a legitimate study conducted by two professors at the University of Chicago that concluded that all M/TV Board threads need a dose of SFP in order to maintain the proper level of cynicism required to be an entertainment snob.

That study had some serious methodological flaws IMO.

Then why are you in this thread?
Because I've watched every episode of the show and am throwing out my opinion. Do we now need separate threads for Hive Mind and non-Hive Mind to go along with the reader/non-reader?

I wasn't all that thrilled with the episode prior to its start. I figured it was going to just be filler and not advance the stories any.
Damn was I wrong! We had Tyrese bond with Carol. Carol, the person that he doesn't know killed the woman he loved.
We had a good, long look into the dark place that is/was the older sister's mind. Translation: bitches be crazy!
We had a look into the younger sister, who struggles to maintain her innocence in a world that will simply not tolerate it. Not only were Carol's teachings to fall on deaf ears, they would also prove darkly prophetic from an angle that was hard to predict.
We saw Carol finally allowing herself to emotionally reach out to the two girls in a way she hasn't been willing to before. Right as she reaches out, one is taken away and Carol has to "Ol' Yeller" the other (the one that tried hardest to win Carol's heart).
We saw Tyrese open up and bond with Carol over his love's death. The scene outside with the tree, Tyrese had the pistol on his hand the entire time and was at Carol's back. I just knew he was about to headshot her, but never did. And then, after the girls are gone, she admits what she did and tells Tyrese to do what he feels he must do. She realized she had become almost as bad off as the girl she had just killed (due to being overly hard and cold) and might need to be put down. And Tyrese fricking FORGAVE her!
All of this within the framework of "they've found a good place they could stay in and be safe". It wasn't the zombies that got them this time (like at the farm), nor was it a group from a rival town following a deranged leader (the prison). This time the thing that pushed them out of a potential haven was from within the group.
this! and we found out who was feeding them the rats. so that officially answered that

I liked this episode but from skimming the last 2 pages apparently a lot didn't
I've never wanted a child to get capped in a movie or show more than last night probably since The Good Son

We get it Jake, you don't like this show. Shouldn't you be e-knighting/friend-zoning bitches on the OT?

I can't say that. I wanted Carl's little arse dead and gone the first two seasons (as did many, many others). Lizzie wasn't evil like that little shite on The Good Son, so I was hoping she could be brought back from what looked to be a serial-killer path she seemed to be trodding. Unfortunately she was just too far gone and Carol had to put her down (and in doing so realized that Rick had been right and that she had gone too far with killing those two in the prison).

but they still need protein for the muscles to move the body, etc
that would wear out quickly, especially since they're constantly exposed
once you add animals to the mix, they wouldn't last very long at all
I love me some SFP on tigerdroppings. But, this is ridiculous. Arguing the hows and whys of zombies? lol. It is a zombie. If you are going to argue that it is unacceptable that they should last this long how did you get past the idea of them existing in the first place!?

I enjoyed last nights episode. I don't mind the pace, never have, even when they were stuck on the farm I never minded the pace. I certainly did not expect Carole to just straight up execute the little girl.
I'm really glad that they did not harm the baby though because I do not think my wife would have been able to take it. She gets so nervous everytime the baby is on screen.
I kinda hope they get rid of the baby somehow though.

They find a big school with happy mothers and tons of kids playing and learning. Judith gets involved. Then the group somehow gets separated from the school, which isn't harmed by any means.
Everyone's sad. Very sad. Then they move on. To Romulus.

works for me
cause if something bad happens to the baby, who kinda looks like our daughter, no way my wife continues watching the show
everytime they show them walking around she is like "OMG where is the baby?!"

GoT
The Americans
Meat Eater
Justified (although it needs to end. glad next season is the last)
Shameless (same as justified. needs to end)
i don't know if any currently running (or about to start again, in GoT's case) get me rev'd up

One of the themes of the show is "Just when you start feeling safe and secure, you are at your most vulnerable" and the writers blow shite up. What this means is that pretty much every character except for Rick is expendable unless morphs into more of an ensemble cast. Taking the reality of popularity into account, Mischonne and Daryl are pretty safe, but other than that I think every single character faces the possibility of getting killed each episode they are in.
The writers are pretty damned savvy though, so they won't kill off a character unless it is needed (re: Lizzie). So while I think Judith could eventually be killed, I don't think it will happen for a long time because Rick (and others) need her for motivation to keep going. She's a great plot device and you don't just toss them away (unless you write for Heroes :p)

quote:Really? Don't get me wrong. I like the show too, but as far as believability goes it's out there and that was one of your big beefs with TD. Those are some cheesy disguises they wear and Phillip's other wife can't be that dumb in real life. That phony wig would have to come off at some point during all of the sex they have.
