Not sure if you are serious. Beth was almost as bad as Lori. Terrible actor. Annoying character who has a chip on her shoulder for no reason. Cheesy singing. Good riddance.

Absolutely serious. Beth was one of my favorites.
Although if the trade-off is Noah, it might end up a wash.

definitely top 5 character.
Top 5 character, huh? There's like 5 main characters. Happy to see she beat out the zombies.

Yeah, going out on a limb, I know.

I figured going into the episode that either Beth or Carol wouldn't be making it out alive. While I did hate to see Beth die, I would've been 100x more pissed if Carol wouldn't have made it.

I'm still wondering if the female cop and/or the doctor might not end up with them in the spring

I second SUB's thoughts that Beth sort of sucked as a character. The main reason I didn't mind her was because I thought her and Darryl's relationship was interesting. But I'm not sad to see her go at all.
Yeah, I thought at least a couple people would want to peace out. But it looks like it was just Noah.
I guess being set up in that hospital that's pretty safeguarded from walkers (and outsiders even), along with having electricity and amenities like that is not worth joining up with a new unknown group on the run that, for all you know, killed some of your friends. Also, maybe people who would've normally wanted to leave would now want to stay now that Dawn was gone. Who knows.

It seemed intentional on the writer's part. Better to live life alive in servitude than go out and face the dead. I just wish they had skipped the whole "trade" angle. You could have just added more cops, had Rick go in guns blazing, and Dawn figuring out towards the end that he wants Beth/Carol. Having lost 5-10 cops already, she sets up a trade with Rick: Noah for Beth/Carol with the 2 women at gunpoint. Rick obliges. Noah for Carol first. Beth stabs Dawn. Dawn shoots Beth. Daryl shoots Dawn. The few remaining cops want nothing to do with the remainder of the group after having the fear of God put in them.
It just makes so much more sense than, Rick leads his group into a situation in a closed hallway where they are outnumbered and in the hands of Dawn. You can say all you want about Rick's past, but he has been dead on ruthless lately. From just whacking guys from behind at Terminus, to executing the stragglers in a church, to shooting that runaway cop. This Rick would not have put his group in that situation, and it was such a glaring misstep that it took away from the ending of the episode and the shock value. Of course something was going to happen because they put the group in a stupid, nonsensical situation.

Basically this. Most people would be willing to take a little harsh treatment if it means a roof over your head, running water and electricity, and relative safety. Your other choice is leaving with a group of people that you do not know, braving the open with no guarantee of shelter or food, and risk ending up food for walkers (or cannibals). I can see why most would choose to stay. They don't know Rick's group like we do, in their minds Rick is a major unknown and might end up treating them as bad or worse than the police.

If he does try to go to Washington then how will he be a part of the show? Something has to happen to make him and Rick meet up
It's a long way to DC. It looks like Morgan is already catching up and would be able to do so if Rick's crew stops somewhere for a week or so. I think that is what will happen.
Personally, I am glad that Beth died of all he remaining group, new characters included. I didn't like her character. For those of you worried about eye candy, Rosita and Maggie are far better looking, and I can tell you that more hotness is in the future.

It wasn't really the eye candy factor, I just enjoyed how her character was progressing this season into a stronger person. Then she totally botched it.

But my question is why would Rick and them go to DC still? Eugene lied, and there is nothing there for them.

Ok if all of these cops hated Dawn and were basically happy to see her die, why didn't they just take her out themselves at some point?
I think that was addressed in the dialogue that dawn was the only one that could bring herself to kill the previous leader, as they all knew each other before the ZA.

The cure isn't there, but they may believe DC has the best chance of having some form of stable infrastructure. They also have no place to go now.

I give no excuse for the hallway meeting. I agree. Stupid on Rick's part to do, and more stupid on the writers for trying to make us believe that Rick would do that.
However, I think his line about taking anyone willing to go was basically him saying "this is our show and if you cross us, you are done". They knew it and didn't blink. He was a hurt man, they were a hurt group and would have done almost anything had they been provoked.

Eugene was convinced that DC was the best place to hold up. That there would probably be some walls of some sort or protection. I still this this is the case. He made up the cure part for people to protect him because he felt he couldn't protect himself. My guess is that Eugene still believes that DC is the best place to be. I think he'll still try to convince them of that and they will continue to try to get there.

I can understand the dislike for Father G, but I find his character interesting. I also think that much of the symbolism and foreshadowing is biblical and thus related to Father G. Just in this episode, there were numerous biblical references. The more obvious ones were the Father G scene at the school where he found Mary's (the terminus lady) bible and opened it to 2nd Chronicles, Chapter 8, where it was apparent that she had spent a lot of time reading. That section deals bands of Solomon's officers ruling over others(the hospital crew?)and with burnt offerings (BobBQ). The time on the clock in the hospital matched those sections as well.
We also get ton's of imagery with Beth's arc. Just in this episode, there were 3 medals on Dawn's dresser. The other female office, who seemed to be taking charge at the hospital at the end was named "Shepherd." Beth, of course, sacrificed herself for Carol and Noah. I am sure that there are many more, but those were he easiest to spot for me without giving it much more thought.
BTW, the rest of chronicles deals with the completion of the temple under Solomon and the people of Judah.

I think that there is still some hope that there is something there for them. Eugene's story was believable. Plus, Noah talked about an establishment in Richmond, VA.

I can get down with that if they have a reason to go.
