I didn't love it, but if you think it's worse than TLJA, AotC or PM you may be the one with the low IQ.

The acting was better than in AotC. The characters didnt do things that pissed me off like in TLJ and there was bits of a compelling story there as opposed to franchise disputes in TPM but non of those films left me feeling as disappointed like RoSW. Maybe because it was the last of Skywalker saga and it just wasnt very good. Disney needed to hit it out of the park after TLJ and it fell so rushed..so poorly written, so poorly edited.. and that ending.. the way the emperor went down.. the final space battle...was just terrible.

The Battle of Endor was 10x more exciting and all they had was bunch of midgets in teddy bear costumes and practical ship effects.

Just got done. Much better than I expected and it at least attempted to correct the failed abortion of TLJ.

Hopefully we can close the door on the Skywalker saga and explore the rest of the universe.

She was also probably trained as a kid by her dad who was probably force sensitive. Which would explain why she knew how to fly the millennium falcon. This stuff is not far fetched at all. Her parents sold her off when she was like 5 and they died when she was 6. Not sure how much training they gave her including flying a star ship but I guess not to far fetched for a 5yo

The book "Before the Awakening" explains how Rey learned to fly many different space ships. She found a flight simulator exploring one of the crashed ships and brought it back to her home inside the downed walker. It was all she had to do for entertainment when she wasn't scavenging for parts.
The book is short but has the stories of Rey, Poe, and Finn before you see them in TFA.

Just saw it. Didnt really like it overall, but am strangely satisfied with it. Due to The Last Jedi I feel they went full fan service and over compensated a few times.I liked a few things, and didnt like a lot. I do believe this was almost the best movie that couldve been made with the circumstances. I took my 14 year old and his buddy. They both loved it. It reminded me off something that has been said numerous times this trilogy. The original trilogy will always be my generation's story. This was for the next generation. Yes the effed it up, but still. I'll end with a question, so in the saga there were several "chosen ones". So were they all the chosen one? And if all jedi past, are part of those living, the only thing that would ever bring the balance, for there to be one jedi, and all jedi live in that one? Meaning all the jedi were the chosen ones, because it took them all embodied in one person to bring balance.

They knocked the writing out of the park. Rian left them with nothing and they still managed to correct 90% of his retarded decisions.

It wasn't bad. TLJ dug such a huge hole. You can only put so much shine on shite.

You shouldn't need to read a book to "get it". There were no books before Star Wars came out. The books came from the movie. Not the other way around. This isn't like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.

Kinda the same. It at least felt like a Star Wars movie. Honestly if you skipped TLJ outside of someone telling you Luke dies you’d be perfectly fine seeing this movie. To me that’s a pretty powerful message to the fans. Also them bringing Kevin Fiege in the fold again says they have acknowledged the missteps.

I said before I’d love to see JJs outline for the trilogy. There’s not a shot in hell Johnson gets his own trilogy after what he’s said about the fans of the IP. That guy can kiss my arse.

So what was Finn going to tell Rey? Did I zone out and miss it at the end?

It's like the whisper at the end of Lost in Translation. No one knows but Bill Murray.

No. You know what he was going to tell her, but that was another plot thread they started but abandoned. Granted it was one they never should have started. They should have had Finn join up with Lando, the light skin girl join up with Poe, and Chewie leave with Maz.

The final space battle felt like the one in TFA. Just x-wings flying around shooting at things. There was no sense of progression or flow to it.

JJ needed to get the guys who worked on the Rogue One space battle. That was the closest thing to an OT space battle I've seen in Star Wars.

I saw some interview with Abrams that said he was going to tell her he was force sensitive. That, along with Lando and the chick at the end, are examples of poor editing. There was apparently another scene that didn't make the final cut that suggests Lando is her father.

Anybody feel like the ending would have been a bit better if Rey died and Ben survived?

Then he goes off on a vision quest to rediscover who he is as a Jedi
