Y'all think Leia force projected the vision of Han to Ben? Only explanation I can come up with. I would have preferred Anakin talk to his grand son but I thought it was a good scene

I would have liked the Anakin talk as you put it..Carrie Fisher's Death really created a challenge..

Rey could have really been a "Skywalker" had they not killed Beb Solo off right after his redemption and kissing Rey. They could have married and started another Skywalker bloodline

but some girl he has no relationship to, is perfectly fine to train even though she is a Palpatine, can somehow do force lightning without being on the dark side, and clearly has a strong connection to Kylo?

He wasn’t exactly enthusiastic to see her in TLJ or wanting to train her right away either. After seeing her raw power and Leia’s ANH message he decides to do so.

She didn’t use force light in until this movie.

Can’t remember if Luke knew about the Force Dyad or whatever between her and Ben, but I don’t think he did.

If you found the granddaughter of the most powerful Sith in thousands of years as a child, are you going to immediately murder her or try to turn her and lead her down a better path? Mind you the character in question was the son of man who spent 20 years being the most feared being in the galaxy. Sooooooooo.

I would have loved if they had Vader be the projection at first, remove the facade to reveal AOTC era Anakin and when he needs that last little sauce to get Ben to accept the light, Anakin says “maybe you need to hear this from him” and that’s when the nerfherder we all know and love sets his son straight.

What’s funny about the whole saga is that if Sheev never helped Plagueis with his “cheating death” experiments, Anakin is never created, he never is on Tattoine to help Jinn, OBK, and Padme get off, the CIS blockade is a success and forces that Senate to act in a more extreme manner quicker. With Anakin not around, Palpatine doesn’t have to pull him closer to him, making the Council suspicious of him, the confrontation never happens, Palpatine uses the war to seize more power, destroy the CIS, gives order 66, and with no Anakin there is no Luke or Leia and the rebellion doesn’t really matter.

Being a helping Padawan (are Sith understudies called Padawans?) ultimately doomed Palpatine when you think about it.

I want a bad arse Plagueis movie for Disney Plus. Give Dave Filloni and someone a $80-100 million movie and tell them keep it under 3 hours from open to close. I don’t need any huge action set pieces. Show me his roots. How did he go from wealthy banker to Sith apprentice, to Sith Lord, to finding Sheev, to bankrolling the largest Army in the galaxy’s history to putting his apprentice in charge of the Republic only to get wacked during the celebration. Those can all be built around his quest for longevity, seeking the permanent extension of life.

Plus we can finally get official confirmation that he and Sheev did in fact create ole Anni the Queenlayher.

Yea but again, he tried to murder his own nephew in his sleep because he sensed too much Vader in him. Not being thrilled with the granddaughter of the most feared man in the galaxy, who you have no relationship to whatsoever, is laughably subdued in comparison, no matter what Leia told him to do. Leia had more trust in her than her own Son?

He walked in on their little force chats at one point. No way he wasn’t aware.

I’m not making the point that he should have tried to kill her. I’m making the point how absurd it is to try and explain away that they knew who she was and were mostly fine with it, when it was already known he tried to kill his own family.

How does Rey originally die? Just exhaustion from reflecting but not absorbing the lightning? Also, why didn’t Luke just fly to Crait instead of force project if his ship worked?

I saw a theory that Ben force projected himself and that is why he disappeared. If only.

I was on the fence until:

“Dad...”

“I know.”

Left the theater smiling.

I didn’t think Abrams could pull it off...but he did.

Sheev lit her arse up like one of those crystal balls that them old movie psychics used. She reflected most of it, but not all of it.

I am still in utter shock at the mess of a movie that was made. Somehow it was worse than TLJ. They basically kept the dumb humor and got rid of the slapstick. The story was nonsensical and convoluted trash.

“You die...no you die...oh, now you can’t come back to life and you’re a force ghost”

“You need a weapon to advance the plot, ok, Rey can teleport a lightsaber to you”

Whoever wrote the plot, took one of the worst parts of the last movie (Luke dying because of force exertion) and made it the key to the entire plot

I went in wanting to like it because of the audience score and people saying it was the opposite of TLJ, but Jesus fricking Christ, I literally don’t think it could have been worse.

The only thing missing from this movie was the slapstick humor and the your mama joke.

I would say it was a lesser movie than tLJ but way more enjoyable.

tLJ was a movie I walked out of and just felt like I didn’t have any fun. I get movies are an art form but I usually go to a theatre to be entertained an LJ was completely unentertaining.

This movie was a mess but I at least left happy.

When you watch the trilogy as a whole, Hux goes from serious to comical to serious again.

The best phrase I can use to describe the amount of callbacks in TRoS is “too much of a good thing is a bad thing”

I felt like JJ tried to shove as much shite from the OT into this one as possible. I thought TFA struck a pretty good balance between old and new. This one felt like “oh shite, we pissed a bunch of people off, and no one cares about our new characters, please come see this movie”

There was no drama whatsoever in this movie.
