Come now.

You are smart enough to know the origins of first/second/third world.

Third just meant neutral.

Ireland was technically a third world country.

Not sure when exactly the connotation switched to poor.

Why? What do you gain by Transformers performing poorly? Do you think Hollywood is going to give up on tentpoles if some do poorly?

Yes
Some companies do in fact scrap sequels when a movie tanks and loses a fortune.

And besides who doesnt enjoy seeing a crash watching NASCAR or a big hit in football?

I enjoy seeing a massive film company dump hundreds of millions into a movie, and then see that movie shite the bed and lose a fortune.
Especially if it's a shitshow like transformers.

Any single G1 cartoon episode made into a movie would be better than any of these films.

I went and saw it with a buddy of mine...

I never thought it was going to end as the last 3rd of it drug on. I laughed numerous times how Wahlberg spent the end of the film tumbling over and over and falling from 5+ stories and acted like it was nothing even though that's a given in this type of movie. Also if I had $1 for everytime they said the word "shite" in this movie I'd have about $50 by the time it was over.

Of course as the credits roll it sets up for another sequel.

Exactly. It's got robots and shite. Foreigners eat that shite up. Their shitty taste is really ruining big budget movies.

I saw it with my son and yes I thought it was excruciating how long it was.

Since it seems they're leaving it wide open for another sequel, I'm hoping Michael Bay steps down to pursue something else. It's really got to the point where it seems like I'm watching the same movie over and over again and it's not getting any better. In my opinion, Bayformers has run it's course and the franchise needs another director to breathe new life into it. About the only thing I hope they keep is Peter Cullen to perform the voice of Optimus Prime and Frank Welker for Megatron. He nailed it with those two.

The 1986 animated movie is still the best Transformers movie of all time.

Saw it tonight, it's a fun movie. Obviously turn your brain off for it but if you want a fun popcorn flick, it's alright. Also, Optimus is in the movie for like 15 mins? The transformers have quite a few lines but there's noticeably less action and fights in this which might not have been a bad thing. Anyway, it's not the worst TF film, so take it for what it's worth.

I felt the same way halfway through the second movie and gave up watching it. Michael Bay movies are all frosting and no cake.

Ask and you shall receive.

‘Transformers 5’ Stumbles With $8.1 Million Thursday

It's still going to kill it in foreign markets. This is the global multiculturalism you were promised. Robots and space smurfs. The bar gets lower every day.

I liked it enough. I was confused on some people's role but I think it will be revealed in the next one.

Truth. Took my 11 year old son and a few of his friends. LOTS of that word, it was overkill.
