Can't believe it took 7 pages for someone to post this. I cracked up at this part.

If that doesn't turn you on, nothing will.

So far this isn't showing the McCoys in a very good light.

The McCoys aren't in a very good light. They hold some pretty serious grudges. The Hatfields are just stupid and can't help playing with fire.

Well, besides that uncle, the Hatfields haven't really done much to instigate. The McCoys ambushed the drunk and killed him and shot the Hatfield son on site.
Of course, I'm going by the facts presented in this series.
It's obvious McCoy could never get over Hatfield deserting and the fact that he is a better business man than him. He is clearly thinking he has gotten the short end of the stick.

Is this worth trying to catch a rerun? I didn't know this was airing.

Yes. It was good. We DVRd so we could buzz through commercials.

Agreed, though, one would think McCoy would understand him wanting to desert after he completely sacrificed himself to save them all. That's just me though, what do I know

Hatfield made it home a few years sooner as a result (while McCoy endured a Union prison camp). Not sure about the Civil War, but I know in WW1 and 2, those who stayed home made good $$$'s doing so (selling high priced crops, livestock, ect). They allude to this with Hatfield's logging.

Yep, that is a lot of the feud. The Hatfields were a relatively well off family for the time, and I think they've done a good job presenting that, compared to th McCoys

I don't think I ever saw the whole trailer. I thought it was coming to the theater. I guess they'll rerun the series...forty times. I would have DVR'd it, though.

Somebody fill me in. What was up with that shootout in the saloon with the federal agent and the bald headed guy and how was it relevant to the story? I was following along fine until then.

Im sure they will play the first one before tonight's episode

I would think that the confederate deserters would have looked pretty smart after it was all over. It isn't like W VA and KY were southern strongholds anyway.
Like I said, it looks like McCoy is digging his own grave here. Like Hatfield gave him plenty of opportunity to just let things go and now McCoys kids are really starting some shite.
I wonder what the remaining McCoys think about all this?

He hadn't paid any property taxes b/c he said he was living on Hatfield land instead of government owned land. Had been notified once by mail & once by federal agent. Pinkerton man was coming to take him in but he/his brother weren't having any of that. I think it just adds to the tension with the Hatfield's.
Posted on 5/29/12 at 10:18 am to BamaFanInTigerland
Yeah. There is some kind of disagreement between the Feds and Hatfields as far as who owns the land.
Posted on 5/29/12 at 10:20 am to alajones
Yea, I believe the Hatfields own the timber, but technically not the land or something like that.
