Just watched. Well that was an emotional episode. Loved the Broyles reunion and will miss adult Etta. She will be missed on the show but I'm sure we'll end up back with them raising her as a baby.

We got the written plans for whatever Sept. has in store, we have a direction, we have a loss of life, we have true direction for the Fringe team, we now know Broyles part in all of this, we now see where the Observers are currently.. we have direction, we have story, and we have conclusion. There was never anything in this episode that could have been taken out, NOTHING. It's all important for the end. aaaaand we also had fringe events again!
ETA: Just because you are upset about the ending doesn't change every other aspect of this episode.

So here's a flippin awesome easter egg from this episode...
At the beginning of the episode the observer was playing "Simon".. this name has existed in the 2035 timeline since the very beginning.
The observer was very quickly and simultaneously pushing the Red... Blue... Yellow... and Green buttons down, as a representation of the Observers destroying all timelines, and get this, Simon's original "slogan"?
"Simon's a computer, Simon has a brain, you either do what Simon says or else go down the drain."
45 seconds later.. Peter disobeyed the Observer.. and where did he go to escape?
