Eh, to an extent. One could argue that it's the only comp all season that tests your ability to read people.

How could they read people? Julie read the questions.

This right here.

those final speeches showed the glaring disparity between casting superfans vs. recruits. steve prepared heavily as he knew it was very important and he killed it. liz didn't prepare shite and just told us 5 times that she had a twin. steve's comment about liz sitting in a hotel and chilling was greatness

I'm not willing to give her this. Steve allied with Vanessa very early on and largely stayed out of danger because of this. Whle Vanessa was responsible for a lot of damage, she took out a bunch of weak cast members. After Jason, who was on vacation, James stepped up and appeared to take control. The removal of Clay, and by extension Shelli was due in large part to Steve's input trying to protect the scamper squad. He saved Vanessa at this point to continue using her to not draw attention to himself. He then flipped power for good right back to Vanessa who very predictably continued bathing in blood for everyone to see. He remained out of sight/out of mind for the next few weeks while the remaining of James crew fought it out with Austin's Angels. He broke up the Austwins and had the option to boot Vanessa should his plan backfire.

Bottom line he won as many HOH's and made bigger evictions than Vanessa did. Jeff, Jason, Meg, and Austin. Literally the only game changer was Austin while Steve had Jackie, Julia, JMac, and Vanessa who he beat head to head when it mattered most. I think a reasonable argument can be made that Steve's game was in fact better, it just requires more thought because it wasn't as obvious as Vanessa's game.

I can respect his game a whole hell of a lot more too. He didnt swear on his sexual preference, SO, life, etc. He didnt question other peoples integrity while doing way worse things to them. He didnt throw fits when he didnt get his way and guilt trip others.

frick Vanessa even questioned his integrity and said he stabbed her in the back. Then she turned around and said she wasnt taking him to the finals anyway...after swearing on everything she believes in.

The things she said werent necessary and shows that she is a self righteous self centered bitch.

Right, which makes it even sweeter that Steve won. Personally I thought Jmac wasn't going to say the line about nasty teeth but obviously Steve had some insight on that one from the time they spent together. Look's like Vanessa didn't read people as well as she thought.

Also, I'll second the point on Vanessa not being worried about the money. She wanted the cred. Look how she was ready to suck Jason's dick when he started his comments with praise of her. She is so desperate for validation of her BB skills. I imagine about now Vanessa and Austin are feeling like a couple of dummies. And then Austin will get hit again when Liz leaves him by next weekend.

I'm really pissed Vanessa didn't blow up when Steve sent her packing. That would have made the season.

By the time she stepped off that comp stage, I'm sure a large part of her knew he wasn't taking her and she probably accepted that enough to not lose it.

That's why double evictions have so much potential to be awesome. Moreso when the houseguests couldn't predict when they were coming. Everyone got taken completely off guard and noone has time to really plan or regroup.

The casts have gotten weaker and weaker.

When is the last time someone used the veto to save someone other than themselves?

What happened to the 6-5 types of votes?

Now it's more like everyone just goes along with the HOH's plan without question with votes like 8-0 or 7-1.

in order go 2, 6, 7, 10 and 14

2, 6, 7 is basically a trilogy. you must watch in that order.

Take Shelli's. You know she probably actually thinks meeting Clay was her favorite part. But she knows how that would look. She would never say that. In fact, she won multiple HOHs so that doesnt even make sense that she would say that as her favorite moment. But because it doesnt make sense you can tell she would throw it out there instead of saying Clay, to make her self look good.

It's like the Austin question. You know he was way more embarrassed about being called out about his gf, but you have to figure that he wouldn't want to bring that up on national tv again so he went with being called smelly. You have to know how people act/react to certain situations to win that comp. It's more than just luck

Yeah. I like the idea of that come for final but I feel like the questions could be so much better. If I were in the house id tell someone I'm always gonna go with a joke answer or something. Be like so you know you got my question right. And hope they told me the same in return.

It's been the same exact competition since Season Two. I like it because it underlines the fact that all of these competitions everyone raves about are fine and dandy; but they're secondary to the social game in the house. If you can't position yourself to be taken to the end regardless of if you win or lose the final HOH, then that's a failure in your game.

Dan, Andy, and Derek were all positioned going into pt 3 so that they were going to final two no matter what. That's worth something and extremely important in this game.

As Will showed in the second season, you can win this game without winning any competitions; and I find that to be kind of great. People get hung up on the window dressing but forget that they need to be social in order to get the big W.

So I've stayed out of this thread all season since I don't have time to keep up with the live feeds but what's the opinion on Vanessa?

I hated her but she seemed up there with Derrick as far as strategy goes. She didn't own it enough to be in the same category as Dr. Will

I thought this season was the best in awhile. Very little floating. Some very dumb decisions were made though.
