I should rephrase. I'm talking about the perception of Derrick after Week 3, not his actual performance.
Was it your perception in week three that he was going to run roughshod through the house that season? For some reason I didn't think that became clear until another week or two into the season.
No matter how successful you start, it doesn't mean you'll win the whole season. What I'm getting at is that you can't judge quality of play in this game until you've had a significant portion of the season to reflect on and see how early actions affected later standing.
Derrick played the game masterfully, it's just impossible to judge that greatness until he was further along in the game.

Derrick actually played a very low key game. He never really talked to the wrong people and kept his circle small for a reason. He played it masterfully but the problem was everyone knew he would win after his group took control of the game and it took a while for him to step into a game player role. He just stayed low key for a while and stayed under the radar and made friends who ended up trusting for the duration.

The only problem I have with Derrick is last year's house ranks in the top five top to bottom. It would be impossible for him to replicate his success given everyone knows he's a cop, but that's why I gave Derrick so much shite last year - the cast.
As for HOH, it all depends on when you win. You can win early, but you best use it to develop allies instead of enemies.
