It's the best directed show on television... There 5-10 minutes of nearly every episode that is high cinema quality stuff.
While I agree with this, The Leftovers has to be a close second. The most recent episode was just amazing. The end shot was unreal.
Great episode btw, we are surely in the Golden Age of Television right now folks, enjoy it.

I know the Gus stuff is intereting, but I find myself more into the Saul stuff right now. Tonight's episode was riveting.
Both story lines are great right now. However I agree with you. Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean are outstanding together and Rhea Seehorn and Patrick Fabian are just about perfect in their roles. The acting in the Jimmy/Chuck story line is so good.

Jimmy met a con man in the store. He was a bad influence on Jimmy and he started pocketing cash here and there.
shite, I thought it was that his dad was actually skimming some of the money or just not very good at running the store and Jimmy didn't have the heart to point it out when he was blamed so he allowed Chuck and their mom to think he did it.
My memory is not so good sometimes.

That episode was like 2 weeks ago

So in the preview for next week we see Howard trying to get Chuck to back down. He was saying Jimmy's not worth it. What is Chuck planning? I can't see how he has a move from here. The only thing I can think is that maybe he is asking Howard to put the P.I. on Jimmy in hopes of catching him up to no good.

Show well on its way to becoming the GoaT.

I'm thinking its along the lines of we need to fight whatever the decision is, fight Jimmy, etc.
I think Howard is going to subtly talk to Chuck about seeking psychiatric help.

I don't think he can. Not sure about this hearing, but I would assume Jimmy could not be tried twice. He will have to get something new. I hope they don't go down that road though. I am ready to be done with the Chuck story.

Great episode last night. I am in the camp of enjoying the Mike/Gus story more than Jimmy, but last night was good. Fantastic acting by McKean.
I was also expecting Huell to have dropped a phone into his pocket instead of just the battery.

That part of th story is done. But chuck is a main character. He's not going anywhere...unless, something terrible happening to Chuck helps force Jimmy over the edge.

Those feature phones were heavy and bulky and likely to be noticed in an inner jacket pocket, the light, thin battery, not so much. That simple fact necessitated the inconsistency in Chuck's belief system, that "current has to be flowing" yet "naked batteries hurt." I would like to hear his rationalization for that. He must have one, given how much time he's spent thinking about and researching his affliction. FFS, he can spout off about "the inverse square law," something Jimmy correctly pointed out typical lawyers would never have heard of, and that definitely includes Chuck under normal circumstances.

Not trying to single you out, but everyone here believes some event will push Jimmy over the edge to "become" Saul Goodman. I'm not sure that's how it is going to happen.
Jimmy just used dirty tricks to successfully defeat a giant law firm and a great lawyer in Chuck. He did this in front of a biased jury. (Chuck's law buddies)
Why can't Jimmy or Jimmy and Kim have and epiphany that his true calling is in criminal defense. It pays a lot better than doing wills for $140 a pop. I also don't think he "becomes" Saul Goodman. He will remain Jimmy and just turn on the Saul persona while working. Jimmy and Saul are too different for him to truly become that in my opinion.

Was anxious that whole episode.
Also Vince can put people in 1 room, and write so well that it will be the best hour of tv that week.
Like the twilight zone episide, "Five characters in search of an exit". Can be claustrophobic and uncomfortable, yet at the same time..you know where it's going, but you're enjoying the ride more.

The show is so good right now it can pick and choose between Mike/Gus and Jimmy/Chuck and kill it without even having to use both storylines in an episode. Vince Gilligan is an alien.

Also think I saw and heard Rebecca say to Saul that, "you need to do the right thing". Or something similar?
Maybe having him hospitalized?

J+K=S
This pic is from the first episode. It's obviously great cinematography, but I think it's more. It says Jimmy is the face of Saul, but Kim is the unseen brains behind Saul helping from the shadows.
More evidence
Say what you want, but they are trying to tell us something here. What that is is unclear at this point. You could say the shot of Gene is to show he misses Kim, but I don't think so. It was too quick and subtle. If they wanted to convey him missing or regretting they would have stayed with the shot longer like they did when Gene watched the old Saul commercials. This was some sort of hint about something involving Kim.
Combine that with Kim helping Jimmy con the guy at the bar and Kim asking Jimmy for a dollar, and I think it's very plausible that Kim is half of Saul.

Accidentally posted this in the episode 3 thread earlier.
This last episode may have been the best episode of the series.

Not for certain, but Jimmy was never going to be disbarred. A simple name change could never get him around disbarment.
