Not definitively, but Gene would have to have been hired as manager. Probably not enough time to work his way up through promotion.
We're talking a foodcourt Cinnabon...yall are seriously overthinking minutia.

We are on the 16th page of an episode thread at 1 am. This is where minutia lives.

This just blew my mind. Had zero clue that's who he was. Zero.

Ice Station Zebra was the first novel I ever read, back in the 8th grade. Great stuff by Alistair MacLean. It was a made into a crappy movie with the plot changed substantially.

Jimmy is not remotely "a good guy." He's a POS who had to defend himself not against a lie, but the truth, concerning the fraud he perpretrated against his brother, which made Chuck look like an idiot in the one area of his life he holds most dear, the law.
THIS. Everyone I watch the show with, understandably so, roots for Jimmy at every turn. Much like Gilligan made us hate Skylar White, he's made us hate Chuck.
Both are much better people than their counterpart, not that they're perfect, but they try to do the right thing more often than not. Meanwhile, we cheer as Walt kills and cooks and Jimmy cons.
Vince Gilligan is television.

Chuck is a pretty big shite head. But yeah, Jimmy is a scum bag. That scene with the airforce guy that he conned when he showed up to Jimmy's office was pretty telling about Jimmy's actual character.

People aren't perfect, but as far as malice..I feel chuck has more in him. His constant moves of hurting and keeping down his younger brother for years, it's undeserved..using his position to manipulate and put others in a bad spot.
He knows better. He should be better.
AMC should recognize that Vince is their man. He's done more for that network than anyone else has. And let's be real, walking dead & etc. doesnt have shite on Vince & peter and never has.
Always wondered what he would do with that show given a season lol

Vince's products are way better at everything than TWD, but TWD has way more viewers. It's one of those culture things that just is popular because it's popular.
BB and BCS are leagues above that show (And FTWD is terrible)

I watch TWD when it's on, but it's more of a "ive watched this since Halloween of 2010 and I have time invested..and there's nothing else on Sunday night" now.
No way as invested as I was in BB. There is no beauty in their writing. Acting is weak. The numbers are there, but on a decline. Breaking bad's numbers grew over time.
Positive word of mouth is the best publicity imo. How silence of the lambs was on its initial theater release,..as far as it all goes on tv though, emmys speak for themselves lol

I didn't hate Skyler. I don't root for Jimmy. I think he's pretty detestable, actually. Chuck is more pathetic than hate-inducing.

Jimmy's cons haven't been all that compelling for me. Unlike Walt, I think Jimmy's unsympathetic scum, and I don't think his backstory was worth three seasons. OTOH, I liked Saul, and that may be because he was administered in small doses. It remains to be seen whether a show about Saul will be good.
The whole Jimmy/Chuck dynamic is just depressing to watch. Jimmy's trapped in it out of loyalty, and yet he keeps a close relationship with a person who thinks he isn't any good, resents him, and wants him to fail. The courtroom scene diminished everyone, especially Jimmy, for the reason I gave in the post you replied to.

Walt is a bigger POS than Jimmy could ever be. He had a massive ego which led to his downfall, and is a narcissistic a-hole. He ruined the lives of so many more people than Jimmy (not Saul yet) has thus far. I actually hated him more than I hated Skylar.

I didn't say Walt didn't become a POS. He didn't start out as one, though, and that makes him more sympathetic. I understood where Walt was coming from, and despite all the damage he caused, cooking empowered him, made him alive. That was exciting to watch, and when it turned truly dark, it became tragic.

So you aren't a fan of this show so far? I think it's the best show on television right now. Or the leftovers.

He was always egotistical. He walked out on his the what would become a multi-billion business because of it. He also refused to take his friends' payment and job offer and decided to ruin his family and multiple other people's lives by cooking meth instead.

I'm just saying there's no way Saul walks back into Albuquerque and doesn't immediately get handcuffs slapped on him.
What is his crime? Federal money laundering has a statute of limitations of 5 years I think. Not sure about the Arizona equivalent or other possible crimes they could get him for. I don't remember BB well enough to remember if he could possibly be implicated in murder which obviously doesn't have a statute of limitations, but I don't think he was. If his crimes are just of the money laundering / fraud variety, eventually he could be able to come out of hiding at least with respect to facing law enforcement.
