Captain americas greatest attribute is his ability to led. He is willing to be the first in and the last out, and his featlessness is second to none behind stark.

Going to watch it this morning with my son.

That is completely understandable. And it is for the exact same reason Superman comes across as stale and weak. . .character-wise.

Hard to make a true blue hero-type believable enough to be a forceful character pushing the movie forward.

yeah his battle plan was "iron man, thor, and hulk fly around and frick up the football field-sized bad guys. i'm going to stay on the ground and fight these guys that 2 normal humans are having no problem fighting"

It's his limitations that make Caps so great. I don't know if that came in so well in the movie, but that's the point. He wasn't as much better than hawkeye and Widow as he should have been, no.

Ehh I expected a little more from the T3 showdown. It was still a solid A- in my mind, but the best part of that was when Optimus showed up and went all Spartacus "Kill them all". Got my arse jacked up.

I believe it was:

Thor you handle Loki
Iron Man you take care of them as they come through the portal.
Hawkeye you take a perch up there and keep an eye on the portal.
Black Widow you're down here with me.
And Hulk...... SMASH!

Avengers is a popcorn movie.

TDK is a serious film.

No Oscars handed out for Avengers.

And The Avengers is the more entertaining film and it's not even close.

I don't get part of the Oscar, so why the frick should I care if a film wins it? The Academy is so out of touch with modern cinema it's a damn joke. I mean shite they gave a crappy black and white silent film the Oscar for Best Picture and gave the Best Actor award to a guy with 2 damn lines in the movie. frick them and their meaningless awards.

If they are okay with 3D I'd recommend 3D. The size, scope, and action just pops better in 3D.

BTW, this movie had the second biggest individual day by a movie in US Box office history with just over $80 million trailing only HP7P2's $91 million opening day. This movie is a lock for for $160 million. 75% for over $165 and a 50% chance at beating HP7P2 by hitting $170 million.

By Monday morning, Disney will have one of the top 2 3 Day openings in US Box office history. I couldn't be happier for Joss Whedon.

prostate problems, bro?

but srsly, comparing this to Nolan is apples/oranges.

For pure action and entertainment this movie is just about perfect. Best Hulk ever, dialogue is great, Tony Stark brilliant as usual. Mark Ruffalo best Banner ever, etc etc etc. All the characters were integrated well, and that is not easy to do. Whedon is going to be friggin huge and it is well deserved.

p.s. - Batman Begins >>> TDK anyway

I didn't walkout of the theater thinking Captain America was the team's weak link. He doesn't have the brains of Stark and Banner or the muscle of Thor or the Hulk, but he has heart that the others don't, other than Banner, who has everything.

Cap doesn't have the wealth, power and birthright that gives Stark and Thor their swagger. He isn't ruthless like Black Widow and Hawkeye. Cap is the character most like the common man. He's the glue that holds everything together. How could you not get a chill when Cap goes into Stuttgart and saves that old man from Loki? Reminding him abou the last time he was in Germany.

There's a reason why Agent Coulson idolizes Cap. They are cut from the same cloth. If you can look at either character and see them as weak... You might be missing the point of what really makes a hero.

True. Cap outright says it in CA:TFA: He hates bullies. That's what drives him. He knows what it's like to be without power to be bullied and he doesn't want to see anyone else suffer. He's the moral center of the team. He's also the only one that has battlefield experience in a war on Earth prior to the events of this movie.

BTW, does anyone else think that that waitress they interviewed could be Peggy Carter's granddaughter? They had a scene where Cap meets Peggy filmed for this movie, but they cut it out because they felt it didn't mesh with the pacing. I can kinda see why.

We dont need another powerful Avenger we already have Thor and freaking Hulk two of the most powerful ones ever on the same team. I'd like Wasp just because she is a good character or Vision. What they really are missing is Spidey and his sarcastic arse
