My buddy didn't really care for it either. He said it's more of a farewell tour than an actual good film. Would you guys agree with that?
It really kinda feels that way, the story leaves that reality so disjointed that it seems like they will have to create a new MCU soon or just ignore the events of it. The entire universe is fricked up because Tony didn't want his daughter to be any different and Cap needed to go dance and get some pussy. Several other universes are fricked up as well from stealing the stones.
Like what happened in the universe where Loki gets away after stealing the tesseract after the events of Avengers 1. Then you got a whole other universe where Thanos and his entire army vanished to go to the future of the current MCU universe.

Yes but it’s not heart warming or sentimental. The time travel is what it is without much explanation other than references to other time travel movies but it was nice seeing some different characters come back. It’s not going to have the strong legs and word of mouth that IW has. It’s rewatchability is going to be much lower than anticipated I reckon too.

I don’t necessarily think it’s time travel. You aren’t supposed to be able to change time (Unless you have the time stone which apparently is a whole other nonsensical thing), what happened, happened. It’s universe/reality travel. They are fricking with other universes to their own gain.
MCU at the beginning and end of the movie is a universe without infinity stones including Dr Strange’s time stone and Vision. This opens up a lot and could cause some devastation to the universe as a whole unless they just ignore it or steal again.
Then you have old cap which shouldn’t of been there and should of been in another universe.
They made a mess of things with this movie.

Yeah time travel is just a convenient descriptor for what they did to the universe. None of the quantum realm stuff was really explained nor was the overall consequences of what they were doing. I don’t need a midocholrian exposition style of scene but a little background would be nice. As a movie though I didn’t feel a lot of resolution even though it “ended” this arc. I think you’re right they’ll either ignore it or have a neat retcon for future movies.
Apparently the Russos went with the Damon Lindelof school of writing and left us with a lot of questions and little answers

I enjoyed Infinity War much more, because of the non-stop action from beginning to end and the interaction between all of the characters. Endgame was a slow burn just getting the stage set for the final showdown.
These are pretty much my feelings after seeing it. There were some nice moments but it felt very flat after the greatness of Infinity War. I think the Russo's really liked season 7 of Star Trek Voyager. It felt very familiar... almost like an MCU version of two time travel episodes spliced together...Shattered and the series finale...Endgame (just a coincidence surely). I think the time that Infinity War devoted to every character made Endgame feel like it was just a little too much to do well.

So it’s basically like Rick and Morty; who cares if we frick up other universes if the one we’re currently in is fine

Except Rick and Morty have a better idea/thought out universe travel design. It's like no one tried to figured out how things in the plot would be effected by setting rules for some parts of it and then having different rules for later in the film on how it's all supposed to work. Time continuity was just completely abandoned and no one cared about plot holes. It's just like the rules only apply when it's convenient for the story.

A new MCU...such as one with mutants and the Fantastic Four?

Endgame getting universal praise at this point. Kind of surprising with the time travel element. Guess that is the point of super heroes movies, don't dissect the plot.

Exactly. Just go to them to have a good time and you should be fine.

It's a fun movie and the time travel aspect didn't really bother me til the end. It will get really high praise. Overall I thought they did a great job making a large ensemble cast sequel.

Thor in GotG 3 should be fun.

With how under-powered they made Drax, Thor is easily the most powerful Guardian. Seems like an odd fit.
