Jackson put a lifetime of work into his interpretations of Tolkiens work.
Whether or not you like what he did, he put in the love, blood, sweat and tears to make six incredibly entertaining movies.
These idiots are just reading the cliffs and shoe-horning minorities into roles in an attempt at virtue-signaling.
Bottom line: Jackson's love for the source work meant his intentions were pure, while ROP locusts are just doing what parasites do.

generates views for their channels.
The same people you mentioned weren't enthusiastic about HotD, but they love it now. They hate with stuff like Rings and She-Hulk and churn up money by ripping on it, but none of that would be possible if the shows were good.
Rings just sucks. The shills and simps WILL admit it. They will obey.

90% of his reviews are him shitting on shows he thinks are woke.
5% is him just shitting directly on Hollywood and California. Unrelated to any show.
And maybe 5% is him liking a show, but usually in the context of why it’s good and the shows he shits on are bad.

I love That you will try and defend the guy giving you all your opinions while accusing anyone who disagrees with you a shill.

Constant whining like this has me barely visiting this board anymore.

I mean clearly that’s a gross oversimplification of how much story Tolkien actually wrote of the 2nd age (vs what’s needed for a television drama)
Not really

Maybe so. If they couldn't make a LOTR show with the rights and licensing they could get, then they shouldn't have.

Good thing they’re making a LOTR show.

What television show writers are more than pale shadows of one of the greatest writers of the 20th century?
Ehh. Among traditional literary critics, he's generally considered a poor writer on the prose level. Long-winded, deliberately archaic, rambling, etc. He was way more interested in world-building than characterization but he built a damn good one. Tolkien was a fantastic world builder and linguist. But one of the greatest “writers” he was not

I mean The hobbit is based on 1 cohesive novel, and a very good one at that.
This show doesn’t have the same level of source material. I personalyl Don’t mind the different story line. It’s somewhat expected in giant fantasy shows (and honestly something I think is Missing from HOTD right now)
I’m still hoping Halbrand is a head fake

Halbrand now traveling to the Elves is setting him up to be Sauron for those betting on that. May not be but looking more and more that way. One more episode so maybe the dots will finally be connected. Who knows.

Nope. They're making a show with LOTR characters and settings in it. Not a LOTR show.

LOTR characters and places telling a LOTR story.
Sorry it’s not already over as the source material would have told 3000 years of story in the first 4 episodes if they made exactly what he wrote.
Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age is 20 pages.

No one doubts his ability create rich worlds and languages. But his prose and character work has rarely or ever been praised

Those were definitely bad. No where near as horrible as this show.
For those criticizing Nerdrotic and others for constant negative reviews about a show; you have to realize this is their "job" so to speak. They watch and talk about all "Nerd" content and tons of people watch it.
I have to admit, this show is getting to MST3K treatment bad, and the various nerd channels ripping it is great entertainment. I'm actually thankful for something so catastrophically bad providing this kind of entertainment.
The backlash against this show has almost everything to do with the showrunners' actions. Whether it was attacking the fans before the show launched, then launching the disaster of a show and attacking the fans again after legitimate criticism came to light. Then you have amazon blocking reviews. had they not virtue signaled and "modernized" it while attacking naysayers, perhaps this show would have just been enjoyed by those who like things as bad as this while the rest of us would move on.
This is 100% on Amazon and the Bad Robot rejects.
