As much as I would like to take a pot shot at Dean its hard to argue with the Democratic Party's accomplishments during his tenure. Sadly I don't see Michael Steel being as successful. The Republican Party has a serious leadership void to fill that has been there since 1988 regardless of the two Bush presidencies. Heck, it could be argued the Republican have not presented the American people with a conservative candidate since 1984.

I can see that argument. I don't completely agree with it, but I can see it.

But looking ahead, what can we do to improve political discourse here in America? I mean, much of what has been written on this thread is evidence that people can not (or simply will not) discuss politics in a civil manner any more in this country. And that is sad, because we have the best system in the world.

So what will they do with the episode of scrubs that was supposed to air? not show it at all or just put it on abc.com?

They're moving it to a different day.

Thus, the outrage over this is even more silly.

I spend most of my time on the Poli board. Popped in here for something light and less confrontational. Suppose there's no escaping it these days.

The only thing we can do as individuals is to state our views and make our arguments in a civil manner and refrain from being part of, and adding to, the existing fracture.

Which is why I haven't posted on the Poli board for over a year.

For a while there, that place had turned into a real cesspool.

Its actually worse since the election. The right is now making many of the same arguments the left was making for eight years and the left has assumed the same defensive positions previously held by the right. And no one seems to have noticed the switch.

It all started after 911. Republicans didn;t attack Clinton like we do Obama, and it's because for the last 6 years we've been watching Bush get lambasted on every news outlet, including Fox News occasionally. Radical groups like think Pink and Acorn that have risen up into the spotlight only increase the polarity between the 2 parties. Then you have folks like Pelosi come in with their completely partisan politcs against everything we believe in, and we get angry.

Before now, govt officials weren't this blatantly partisan and would at least hide their smirk when they pulled a fast one over on the other political party. So it leads to a greater polarity between the parties.

Throw in the fact that many people now either blindly back or don't back the president, no matter what he does, and it's going to be impossible to have any sort of relevant political discussion.

Make no mistake, it still is.

And this thread would fit in nicely over there.

if you don't agree with the liberals some way u lose. The media is such a joke and journalism because they will never fault Obama for anything because they are to busy holding his dick. If you don't agree with gay marriage u get booed or disqualified for something what a joke those liberals are, especially from that shitty state they call California. Obama has done a shitty job since he has started. It's a popularity contest many people come on tv and say Obama has done a great job so far that's how uneducated and stupid people who voted for him are. They are probably still waiting for their brand new car and free gas
8 yrs scrubs hasn't gotten the respect it deserves and obama gonna take a shite on it wed and frick up the series finale. Quit having addresses every other week with useless info your Telepromoter feeds u

This thread suck, by the way he is just going to talk about the same shite, nothing of any significance, and if you expect anything different don't hold your breath

Ohh they should put it on PBS, and let people choose if they want to watch Obama or Lost, who wants to bet he loses in the rating to Lost?

scrubs would get better ratings for their series finale than lost for it's season finale. What does have to do with anything though
