Mid-2000s I hung out with her once at a bbq joint in Highlands, NC. She had this Asian guy with her who she claimed was her boyfriend but who was flamboyantly gay. The two of them, me, a young newlywed couple on honeymoon, and a ridiculously hot Belarussian bartender pounded shots for hours and watched Virginia upset Fl St. I was hitting on the bartender, the bartender was awestruck at having a TV personality there, and the "boyfriend" was hitting on me while the newlyweds just laughed their asses off at the whole dynamic. It was a fun night. SS was quieter than you would expect though. She actually seemed really into the football game.

Adam Eget? Norm doesn't want him to have to go back to jerking off punks for 15 bucks a man under the Queensboro bridge.

Norm is the GOAT ... I can’t wait for this.

Norm is the one celebrity that can get away with it given his continuous career suicide by giving the middle finger to executives. He’s got a ton of respect in the comedic community for this and it’s the only reason he keeps on getting gigs.
It’s a fricking travesty that Colbert got the Late Show over Norm. Norm was Letterman’s personal choice for his successor, but the executives said “no fricking way”. It’s obvious even from the mid-90s that Letterman was grooming Norm to be his successor, but Norm has burnt way too many executive bridges for him to get that chance. I’m glad Netflix is throwing him a bone, because Norm is a great interviewer and bring in nothing but Grade A guests.
Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.

Isn’t this the guy that blows other guys under the Brooklyn bridge for like $5 a pop?

I saw this today. It's not Norm but it's about Norm and it's funny. I bet he does drive the tv execs crazy, because he's not a guy you can control.

The Tonight Show just canceled tonight's Norm Macdonald appearance
quote:
History repeated itself tonight, as an NBC late-night program abruptly booted comedian Norm Macdonald from a high-profile gig. This time, it wasn’t Saturday Night Live and Weekend Update, though, but The Tonight Show, which announced just a few minutes ago that it was killing Macdonald’s planned appearance on tonight’s episode, in the wake of a controversial interview with the veteran stand-up that ran in The Hollywood Reporter today.
As previously reported, Macdonald’s interview managed to fall on the “predictable but disappointing” side of a shocking number of pop-culture issues, from his hearsay objections to Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette, to his support for old friends like Louis CK and Roseanne Barr, to his belief that Chris Hardwick was a hapless victim of the #MeToo movement. And while Macdonald has now issued an apology for “minimizing the pain” of the people hurt by CK and Barr’s actions, it doesn’t appear to have been enough to stop The Tonight Show producers from wanting to distance themselves from his comments and the anger surrounding them.
quote:Norm Macdonald’s ‘Tonight Show’ Appearance Canceled After Controversial Comments
“Out of sensitivity to our audience and in light of Norm Macdonald’s comments in the press today, The Tonight Show has decided to cancel his appearance on Tuesday’s telecast,” the show said in a statement tonight. (They’ll be extending a Matthew McConaughey interview in the Macdonald segment’s place.) As it happens, Macdonald touched on Tonight host Jimmy Fallon during the interview, defending him from accusations of “humanizing” Donald Trump during the run-up to the 2016 election. Meanwhile, Macdonald’s new Netflix series, Norm Macdonald Has A Show, debuts on September 14.
quote:
The Tonight Show‘s decision to pull Macdonald from the guest lineup follows an interview with the Saturday Night Live alum posted by THR earlier on Tuesday to promote Macdonald’s new show on Netflix. In the interview, Macdonald indicated that he was glad that the #MeToo reckoning in Hollywood seemed to have “slowed down a little bit” and spoke in defense of Louis C.K. and Roseanne Barr following their scandals.
In one of the most controversial parts of the interview, which triggered backlash, he said of C.K. and Barr, “There are very few people that have gone through what they have, losing everything in a day. Of course, people will go, ‘What about the victims?’ But you know what? The victims didn’t have to go through that.” He later clarified his comments and apologized on Twitter.quote:
Roseanne and Louis have both been very good friends of mine for many years. They both made terrible mistakes and I would never defend their actions. If my words sounded like I was minimizing the pain that their victims feel to this day, I am deeply sorry.

Norm will be on Stern this morning FYI

NBC is a mess right now. The same executives making this decision are probably the same ones that squashed the Ronan Farrow expose and have covered up other “#metoo” accusations.
This was a gross overreaction by people desperately clinging to a job.

Pretty sure Netflix forced him to write that apology on twitter. Sad. The outrage over crap like this has to stop. Fallon should be ashamed, as Norm actually defended him.

Oh for frick’s sake, apparently the writers on the Tonight Show literally cried over Norm’s comments. Have these bitches heard of anything Norm has done in the past?
Daily Wire
But I guess it’s ok to host an actual rapist like Bill Clinton on instead since he’s on the right side. Sorry, but anyone other than Ronan Farrow should be unacceptable as Norm’s interview replacement, since this network covered for Harvey and installed a rape buzzer for Matt Lauer in his office.

Norm said:

Jimmy came back in. “Can I talk to you buddy?” And he said, he was very, very broken up about it, he didn’t want this, he said, “I don’t know what to do.” I said, “You think I shouldn’t do the show.” “People are crying.”
I said, “People are crying.” “Yeah,” he said, “senior producers are crying.” I said, “Good Lord, bring them in and let me talk to them. I didn’t even know I had the capacity to make people cry. So I felt so bad from that comment. Jimmy said, “Come back whatever you want but I think it will hurt the show tonight.” I said, “Jimmy, I don’t want to hurt your show. That’s the last thing I want to do is hurt your show.”
