Good show but the ending was kinda like wut?

I liked root a lot before she became a pathetic lovesick puppy. Every scene with her pining over shaw is cringeworthy. If shaw dies she might become a good character again. I liked the machine perspective but otherwise the episode was pretty bad. Hopefully the evil terminator girl will also be gone soon, as she is the worst actor on the show right now.

This. It just doesn't fit Root's character to really have any love interest. Just seems forced to be "edgy".

Yeah she needs to go. The English dude and the other high up agent are great.

I liked how the chance of survival soared when Shaw arrived.

Yeah the simulations and % survival things were pretty solid. Just thought the relationship angle btwn Root and Shaw just seemed forced and weird. Similar to the what happened with John and Carter before she was killed.
Love interests between main characters just does not go with the vibe of the show IMO.

Yeah I really thought john and carter came completely out of nowhere. I didn't like the relationship but killing her improved the show. I only think they did it because they were killing her off, which makes me think (hope) one of them won't survive this. As long as they don't kill john, fusco, or finch. And I'd like the old root back.
Next week is "Control-alt-delete". I assume that means they'll be back to business as usual and can focus on plot lines other than Samaritan for a while.

Next week will stay on the same arc. Not sure if last episode was the 1st of the trilogy or the 2nd since the mid season break was in between.

Next week is the third of the trilogy and it will focus on the team trying to find out the truth about Shaw.

And when the hell are they going to tell him about the machine?! I doubt there are many people that would keep doing what he has been doing and not finally give in and ask.

I mean by the end of the episode.

Fusco is the best. He is smart enough to have some idea. He's also smart enough to think he might be better off not knowing.

This ^
Also finally watched this week's episode, this show is still amazing, but of course we already knew that.

Well said.
Side note, the weird Shaw/Root love angle got me thinking though about some of the other love angles on the shoe. Whatever happened with the John/Zoe thing (FTR I really liked the Zoe character) and the Finch/Former Fiancée thing?
I think those just dropped off the arc (Well definitely the John/Zoe one). I am not sure if the Finch love angle ever was resolved.

well... considering Michael Emerson, the guy that plays Harold is married to the actress that plays his Former Fiancée, I don't think that story "element" will ever be "lost" per say.
The Root thing has been brewing forever, and the show just kinda took a crazy twist at the end of last season that has made Zoe's character unimportant for the time being.

Yes, and he has said so before. Things like "let me guess, I don't want to know right?". But by definition of being a good detective is wanting to get to the bottom of the situation. He's put his life on the line many times and I would just think at some point he'd be like "tell me what the hell is going on before I do one more damned thing". He's still a damned solid character. I just think at some point he has to know and I would have thought the natural progression would have already been to that point.

HATE her.
I can't stand her either. I'm hoping that gunshot at the end of the episode was Shaw tapping her center mass.

Kind of off subject, but the second that "The Glitch Mob" came on, the entire episode was promoted to "OMG THIS IS SO EPIC" in my mind
Posted on 1/9/15 at 11:22 am to htownjeep
Disagree. Fusco knows exactly what he wants to know. The only way that would change is if he would lose faith/trust in Finch/John.

I didn't think their was a resolution to either but I wasn't sure. I know the Root thing has been brewing for some time but I still just think it seems forced and not really in line to Root's character (Shaw's response to it is exactly how u would think her character would respond). Just think if creator's wanted to elevate their relationship then a "sibling" style love deal would have been more appropriate.
