Nine Perfect Strangers - Hulu

Surprised there’s no thread on this.
Came out yesterday (3 episodes) and stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, and Samara Weaving.
9 Strangers show up at a wellness retreat with Nicole Kidman as a weird Russian guru. Everybody is obviously unhinged to start off but it becomes obvious that NK has some sort of BSC treatment for them all.
Trailers really creeped me out but my wife likes Liane Moriarity and I though Big Little Lies was brilliant so I gave it a shot. Plus she just watched White Lotus with me so i owed her one.
The show itself isn’t as creepy as the trailers made it out to be but it definitely has something creepy under the surface that we haven’t quite got to yet.

Samara Weaving is fine as frick in a creepy kind of way. Like she'd draw blood in bed, but I'd like it....a lot.

Wife and I are starting this tonight. Really enjoyed the trailer for it.

In some ways... hell yeah brother.
In other ways... cringe.
Her first scene that she’s in, she looks terrible and plastic AF (on purpose.) in the second set of scenes she looks like a hot influencer, but still attractive.
She just looks like her uncle unfortunately.
She might be the only character I like, I will say that.

I would say that it’s very comparable to both of those and they’re probably the two I would use as an example.
Not as serious as BLL and not as goofy as White Lotus, but the tone is more BLL.

I’m not a huge fan of her in other films but she’s actually decent in this show. Made it through all of the episodes currently and it’s a good watch.

we just finished episode 3 and i'd say it had a good turn. not that i didn't like it beforehand but 1&2 left you trying to figure out what was going on, but by episode 3 there's finally a good hook.
i guess that's the unfortunate/fortunate thing about streaming. 10 years ago, i'd have never come back to it if i was going to be waiting a week for the second episode of this, but by the end of 3 i'm fairly invested.
really good acting job by Michael Shannon in episode 3.

Releasing the first 3 was strategic and we're hooked now too

michael shannon was awesome in boardwalk empire as well. mrs squeeze and i are hooked on this show. I was guessing that nicole kidman and them were drugging everybody in the smoothies.

Wife and I got caught up yesterday. We are intrigued although we both light white lotus better through three.
Melissa McCarthy is annoying as she always is. Michael Shannon’s wife is hot and his daughter as well. Hopefully get to see one of them naked

Good show, just finished episode 4 and man, that was heavy. It was a little goofy at first but the show is starting to feel much more serious. Looking forward to finding out who’s sending Masha all the threats. Thought it was Yao’s girlfriend at first but that seems a little too obvious now.

It’s funny I read a lot of books about mental health and I’ve been talking my wife’s head off about psychedelics in psilocybin being in the future. There was a scientist on Joe Rogan this summer saying he expects psilocybin to be FDA approved for the mental health treatment by 2023 in a controlled setting. It’s all about micro dosing. I’m very intrigued
