I feel like there’s enough footage out there for anyone to know whether they are interested in seeing it or not

I'd agree, but after two full seasons of Mindhunter we have people asking if they should watch it.

I am getting a V for Vendetta vibe from it. Maybe gotham is at some sort of chatoic turning point at the same time he is and he will feed into it.
Political undertones with some snarky elite figures being offed by the downtrodden joker.. this gains traction and support from gotham citizens and joker fever takes over. Maybe poor vs rich, haves vs have nots class warfare type stuff. Which would set up nicely for the joker vs the Wayne's
The masks, unless they are meant to throw us off, at least suggest joker has garnered some sort of cult following

I find it incredible that of the four actors who have portrayed The Joker on the big screen, all of them have been nominated for an Academy Award, three of them have won it, and one of them won it for portraying the Joker.
