Agreed. The music and visuals were incredible. They can just re release that trailer. Damn near perfection

The rights "go back" to Toho after the forthcoming King Kong vs. Godzilla movie.
Curious to see what Toho does once they can make live action Godzilla movies again, as the anime movies have been underwhelming.

I'm well aware. It was pretty good, definitely an interesting reimagining of the Godzilla mythos. I liked how they incorporated the tsunami and resulting nuclear disaster.
I'm not sure how the legality issue worked with that considering Legendary's movie came out in 2014. However, they can't make another live action movie with Godzilla until Legendary's license ends in 2020(?) following Kong v. Godzilla.

If this movie does well, they are gonna throw so much money at Toho, they'll have to extend the rights. The Japanese haven't made anything that looks half as good as this, and aren't in the habit of dropping $200 million budgets on movies. I loved Shin Godzilla, but c'mon. It was boring as hell for the most part and looked like a bad b-movie compared to this and 2014's Godzilla.
