Why? Everything I've ever seen from Zooey, is that she isn't much different than the character Jess.
I do still find her funny though, Schmidt is still the best though, him and his "move over, let me show you how it's done." "Nick! eye contact"

I absolutely love the Fox Tuesday lineup: Raising Hope, Ben and Kate <-- have been blown away by how funny this show is, and New Girl, keep me laughing all night, so glad they went the "my name is earl" route again with their Tuesday night comedies..

Last nights New Girl was one of the better ones this season. Schmidt singing O'Come All Ye Faithful and just randomly throwing in Hannukah & menorah was hilarious. Also, the exchange between Nick and Winston, “Look who’s talking: You’re the guy who only eats mayonnaise on game days.” “Well, that’s how you make the Chicago Bears win.” And Schmidt is easily one of the better characters on television right now. The thing we Cece at the end was money. “Happy Hannukah.” “Happy Moon Festival, Cece.” “Nope, not a thing.” “Happy Carnivale.” “You should stop while you’re ahead.”

I paused it to laugh more because as a sports fan I'm the same way.
I thought Winston had begun to lose some lines in the show but he was great this episode. I had to watch him throw his drink on Jess and call her a honky twice.

Easily one of the funniest shows on tv right now. My fiancee' got me watching it. She also watches ben and kate, which i find pretty funny, and Mindy Project, which i don't find funny at all.

Maybe I should give this show another shot. I watched it premiere but didn't like it.
Re watch from the beginning with the notion that Jess is not the center. She sucks, they are working her shenanigans in less and less which is making the show better and better.

They've definitely moves away from making her the central character. However, last night when she kept hitting the glass walls "I feel like a bird right now" was pretty funny.

Yea Ben and Kate is funny too. Mindy is getting better but they need to back away from Mindy like New Girl did with jess and let the supporting cast make the show. The two other doctors can be funny like the episode at the DMV and the nurse is always funny.

The show really started to take shape in the 2nd half of season 1. So if someone were to retry watching it, take that into account. Nick's one of my favorite characters on any show.

While Zooey isn't the funniest on the show, I still feel that her character is vital to the show. ALL of the characters feed off each other....including Jess.

Haven't watched the new one yet, but do agree it has been getting better and that's saying a lot since it was a pretty funny show since the start.
