For the most part any kid born between '80-'88 is a huge fan on fanatic levels.

I think that those born in the 60's and 70's are fans, but have never seen the movie through a child's eyes. We've had people on this board swear that the original movie wasn't a comedy. The only explanation that I can come up with for that is their seeing it as a child and thinking that it was an action or horror movie with a few jokes thrown in.

I think Oswalt should be getting a huge pass right now considering his wife just died.

As for articles like this and some of the twitter bashing, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if most of it is actually Sony doing some astroturfing to try and change the narrative on why people have been ripping the movie.

I'll say the same thing as last time. It doesn't look as bad as I thought until Leslie Jones shows up.

It doesn't look great but it didn't look horrible. Wiig and McKinnon are great and McCarthy is stomachable depending on her role. But, I refuse to watch or support anything Leslie Jones does

AVGN does very good, objective reviews. Watched his video yesterday and he was pointing out how shitty the ghosts look. I didn't even think of that until he mtnioned it, and he's right, they look like effects from 1999.

Edit: also did they really do the stage diving gag, the most fricked out and tired joke in movie history. God Leslie Jones is AWFUL.

I think it can break the other trailer's record, let's all do our part and make this happen.

You don't think that is on purpose?

I think that Slimer looking like retro CGI is intentional.

He didn't even look retro in the original.

To make it resemble the ghosts in the old Ghostbusters.

I don't know who this AVGN guy is, but if he's a critic he needs to see the movie before commenting on it.

He's like the original internet critic. Like 90% Internet critics are really rip-offs of him.

The movie came out in 1984, so if you were born in 75, you were 9 when it came out. 80-88 are people who saw it on home video.

I was lucky enough to be 12 when it came out in theaters. I say "lucky" because that's probably the perfect age to get a first viewing of this movie, especially in the social context of 1984.

Harold Ramis really was brilliant. Being 8-16 when his best movies came out was a great experience. RIP.

It was really the cartoon and marketing of toys which hooked my generation born in the 80s. The movies for most of us, didn't introduce us to the franchise. I was however introduced to GB with the 2nd movie. The original film was better but my parents for whatever reason got me the 2nd film as a gift in Kindergarten.

I love the fact that they call him a misogynist b/c he won't see a movie with an all-female cast even though he doesn't really mention the cast (that too makes him misogynistic). the women in this cast aren't funny

He is really just bashing everything outside of the cast.

Putting blame where blame should be taken, with those who fckked it up.
