Ehh... all I see is CG heavy preview for a movie that doesn't have all that high of a budget when it comes to modern comic flicks.

A $122 million budget ain't gonna buy a ton of cool CG heavy action scenes in this day and age. Thor 2, Winter Soldier, Guardians, Iron Man 3, Amazing Spider-Man 1/2, X-Men First Class, and Days of Future Past all had budgets ranging from $160 million to $255 million.

The only major comic flick w/a similar budget in recent years was The Wolverine at $120 million but most of that movie was just a powered down Logan and company running around Japan.

I hope its good but I really dont anticipate that actually happening.

from what i've read, they dont have their powers until the very end of the movie.

I htink most of that trailer takes place in the last 20 mins of the movie.

There will be a solid boringass hour or so of them four of them just hanging out as humans fixing cars and hitting baseballs in a dump and shite .

If that's true I think they may be shooting themselves in the foot w/this preview. That's the kind of thing that makes people feel lied to and leads to shite word of mouth.

While I didn't hate the Ang Lee/Eric Bana Hulk the way many others did the main complaint from everyone seemed to be that pretty much nothing happens for the bulk of the movie. Going that route here while advertising the big CG scenes as if that is what the bulk of the movie is like will create an amalgam of Hulk/Drive hate.

That's what a lot of people hated about Iron Man 3 as well. Now, there were obviously more things than just that to hate, but one gripe I remember seeing over and over again (and one I shared to a degree) was that it was an Iron Man movie with very little Iron Man in it. Hopefully this F4 movie doesn't go a simiar route and only have them (as the F4) superhero'ing shite up for the last act or so.

And of course, IM3 still made a billion dollars at the BO, so while there was plenty to gripe about, people still went to see it in droves.

I was honestly expecting a big lack of Iron Man himself in that movie. My problem is the plot was dumb, the Mandarin was a fricking actor, and the bad guy yet again is a billionaire with a beef with Tony Stark. That's really getting old and uncreative.

Man, there's a lot of nerd hurt (nurt?) in this thread for this movie. I don't see what the problem is...it's a reboot, so what's the big deal if they decided to give the F4 a new origin story? I realize that comic purists (or whatever) will be pissed, but there's really no reason to be IMO. And this movie, to the mass general public, will be just fine as long as the substance is there and it's at least decent.

My only knowledge of the F4 is from the first two movies, both of which weren't very good. At least these trailers look infinitely better than both of those were. That has to at least count for something.

This isn't something I will rush to theaters to watch, but I'll eventually check it out on DVD or something like that. And I'm sure it will make lots of money like some have said.

I think you may have read the wrong ones.

no, i have read quite a few of them.

The stories are just ridiculous. But to be fair, i don't like the avengers, or justice league comics either. I think I just dont dig the team concept.

They are 100% going that route. No question.

The first hour or so will be an explanation of why Johnny and Sue arent blood related, how much of a nerd Reed is, how cool JOhnny can fix cares, how Ben is a hardcore dude with a heart of gold who hits baseballs in a dump.

Another fricking origins movie where the heros don't even show up until the last 20 mins and they leave you with, come back in 2 years to see the movie you wish this one was.

And that was the huge problem with IM3 - there was no iron man in the entire movie because of all the obnoxious reasons i refuse to point out, at the end Gweneth Paltro saved the day while Iron Man completely fell apart with absolutely no skill or foresight and at the end of the movie he just said frick it and quit.

Arguably the best comic book villain and he has never had justice done. He could merit his own stand alone movie.

Just give Marvel their property back already for the love of god.

Dr. Doom in the comics:

Here he is in the new movie:

The F4 are the First Family of Marvel. I didn't get into them until the last few years, but they are awesome.
