Watching the first episode and it's all of a sudden become a "poor gay football players" show

I don’t know what you guys are watching, this shite is unbearable. There is no rhythm, jumping around, just a ton of people’s opinions on Aaron and one kid talking about being able to suck his dick. Obviously a very interesting story to be told, but episode one is already dragging

Attempting to explain isn’t the same as excusing. The name of the show is inside the mind; and that’s what they were looking to do. The Hernandez saga is arguably the most bizarre and unexplainable in sports history. I do think that his repressed homosexuality was the root of much of his behavior.

The last few people interviewed said Aaron is to blame for his actions, not football or cte.

the lack of a reasonable motive for the murders lends itself to speculation as to his emotional and mental health. That’s not excuse making that’s trying to make sense of the non sensical

because of SJW, Democrat, false propaganda that's why.

you pulled the trigger? that's okay. it's always someone else's fault.

You people are insufferable. They didn't excuse his actions or defer the blame at all.

For the most part, people don't just wake up one day and become murderers. There are all sorts of influences and factors that go into the decisions he made. They were trying to explain those. People are always obsessed with these kinds of cases and shows. It's why ID is such a popular channel, and why Netflix is pumping these out regularly. People love them.

I think they did a good job of trying to explain why he had such bad anger issues and insecurities. His dad was his rock and moral compass, but at the same time he was a POS with anger issues who smashed his mom's head on the counter. After he died, his mom shacked up with his cousin's husband which led to him hooking up with a bad crowd at a critical time in his life.

They never once tried to act like one explanation was the only one. They just presented a ton of possible things then had people that knew him discuss what they thought about it. I don't see how anyone could melt about SJW bullshite here, but here we are.

Aaron definitely sounded immature/low IQ in the phone calls. “Bring me some Harry Potters.”

I absolutely believe he shot those dudes in the parked car at the red light.

I think he was pissed, and was plotting while taking pictures with people pretending it was all good. All he ever did was pretend it was all good.

Funny they tried to blame the SEC atmosphere too.

I think the gay stuff probably played a much bigger role in all of this, but even that would never excuse this dumbass murdering 3 guys and attempting to murder 3 more.

I firmly believe everyone he killed or tried to kill was bc he was gay.

IMO, he killed Odin, bc Odin had found out that he was gay.

Everyone else he killed/shot was bc he had to look and act like this tough guy, and not a homosexual. He hated that fact that he liked men, and took it out on anyone who spilled a drink on him.

I understand he wasn't convicted because there was some level of reasonable doubt, but was an explanation ever offered as to why the SUV was hidden in his cousin's house if he didn't do it? I also understand you can't convict based on the tattoos, but the victims were killed with five shots from a revolver, and in the months after the murders he gets a tattoo of a revolver cylinder with five bullets in it. Does anyone ever explain that?

Seemed self explanatory to me. He was proud of what he did, so he commemorated it.

He should have hired a guy to take it completely apart and destroyed it.

..or to avoid a double murder trial, rent a cargo plane for a day or buy a large boat and push it out deep over the Atlantic ocean one night..or something he could have afforded to do.

And how about not provide dna evidence at the crime scene by throwing you half smoked blunt by the body in your backyard..plus the home video evidence you provided.

It's amazing he was able to go as long as he did. Probably shot those dudes in florida.

Thought the pre-draft red flags and UF stories were interesting. Or the fact they wouldn’t paint Urban Meyer in any bad light. But the stuff about CTE was laughable.

I wonder what they told Oden to lure him into the car? What a senseless murder. Even more horrible were the 2 guys outside the club.

Or getting diddled made him feel like a bitch, and he struggled with how another man had power over him which gave a complex. To where he couldnt let it go if he felt someone was trying him and disrespected him.

Maybe he hated that dude/men in general for making him be gay. He didnt know if you were born or made to be somehow. So all his negative thoughts and feelings get super focused on a specific target.

It's all fun speculation

I thought it was very well rounded and I found it easy to follow the timeline as they laid it out.

They presented numerous factors in his life that obviously had to have shaped him into the person that he became in the end. These weren’t presented as excuses in my opinion, but as things to learn from going forward in regards to what we teach our children about life and society.

The closing minutes of the third episode explicitly state that these were his decisions and they were the wrong decisions.

My only complaint is having to listen to José Baez talk so much and no warning for baby killer Casey Anthony’s mug being shown.

I seriously don’t understand how anyone could criticize the show as making excuses (or justifying) for Hernandez, when one of the final statements uttered at the end of the documentary was that Aaron was ultimately responsible for what he did. This comment came from one of his friends no less.

What’s laughable about it? The Dr. said he had one of the most advanced cases of CTE she’s ever seen in a 27 year old, and that had to develop over a decade not just the last few years.

How many 27 year old brains has she seen? I think people have gotten way ahead of the science with CTE. What's normal vs abnormal? What causes what? I think scientifically we just don't know that much at this point. Plus AH was already exhibiting anti social behavior as a teenager. He was only 17 when he shattered the guy's ear drum at the bar in Florida.

It’s laughable that they’re using CTE as a big reason he’s a murderer
