Paramount seems to think the process is rigged

There were many more reasons why this is bad other than just killing the theater experience. You just either completely ignored them or didn’t want to actually read them because it might challenge what you believe.
There isn’t going to be just less movies in theaters. There’s going to be less movies AND TV produced period. And that’s just one of the examples you missed
I've read them and commented on it.
But thanks for continuing to have a hard-on for me I guess.

You can read more about it here. But basically, Netflix started in 1997 as a DVD rental service which mailed discs to people’s homes. It only started streaming in 2007.
Christ, I can't believe I'm so old this actually has to be explained now.

This simply isn’t true.
Except it is. I just checked myself on Regal’s website. For three adults and one child under 12 to go to see Zootopia 2 tonight at the local theater, it costs $84.06. And that’s for the standard screen.
Why would you want me to pay all of that money when I can simply wait 90 days and pay $20 to watch it on digital streaming?

Pretty reasonably priced night out.
And people are gonna act like they don’t sneak in their own snacks anyway. You fricks aren’t fooling man. You just hate spending time with your families where you can’t be glued to your phone so you want the built in excuses
My family of four costs us with tickets (sneaking in candy) popcorn and drinks it’s about $60-$70. It’s a lot more affordable than people want to admit. They just want an excuse to be lazy pieces of shite and watch a shittier version from home so they can scratch their balls without being judged. Can’t say I blame them…but acting like the price is what is driving people out is a wild take considering what everyone spends on streaming services

Why are you so upset about this?

Where the frick do you live? Tickets for a night showing here in Louisiana and it’s $60 for 4 ADULT tickets
If I threw in the price of child tickets, it would be close to $50. 2 Large popcorn and 2 drinks? Tack on $25. So yeah, it’s about $75. And you’re going to pay that at any restaurant, even shitty ones. I don’t see people complaining about that when Mommy and Daddy need chips and queso and margs at the end of the week

I mean I guess that’s the big difference between the two of us. I give a shite about how this impacts myself AND others. You simply don’t give a frick about anything other than your own experience.
If it doesn’t impact you, guess it’s all good then? time to grow up
I mean, that's not overly true but that's one aspect of it.
Am I concerned that some people in Hollywood may lose their jobs? Not really, no. I'm just as concerned about their jobs as they are about mine.
Do I want fewer things made? That depends. If it's fewer shitty things being made and more focused, quality things, then yeah maybe so. And like I said before, if companies are dropping less money into theater type production budgets, then there may be more money for mid-tier entertainment content. So that may actually be a good thing. Just because something can't make it to a theater doesn't mean that good shite won't be created anymore. If I am in charge of a production company, I try to embrace the change and get funding to more creative outlets for content. Now, will they do that? Who the frick knows. But if they just continue to create cookie cutter/assembly line bullshite and viewership goes down, they'll have to do something or they will start hemorrhaging subscribers.
And I've already said that I don't like the NF model of assembly line type shite coming out. It was one of my first posts in this thread. (just reiterating it here before you cuss at me again and get all riled up about something that I've already addressed pages ago).

If true, this is a good sign for Gunn's DCU to continue

It’s $49 on a regular screen. See it an hour earlier for $38.
Edit: Took a screen shot but it's not posting images for some reason.

This is at least the second time you've brought up being glued to your phone. I am perfectly capable of putting my phone down at home and enjoying a movie. Methinks this may be a "you" thing.

So wait, you're in here crying about theaters dying off but you sneak in candy at theaters? You do realize that concessions are just about the only thing that keeps theaters surviving, right? You fricking hypocrite.
And for the umpteenth time, stop arguing affordability. Nobody else is arguing that. It's just not worth the money (or rarely is) for some of us anymore.
Are you always this stupid?

?
I’m pushing back against these Neanderthal takes and bullshite excuses about how this isn’t a huge deal for people who enjoy movies both at home and in the theater. About how this is even bigger than that.
Just wanted to point out some of the hypocrisy in the excuses about how expensive it is but we don’t have that mindset when we pay just as much money for streaming already or when we go out to eat at a restaurant. This doesn’t impact you? Great. It impacts a lot of other people and I feel like they should be allowed to push back and care about the fact this will kill the theater experience and impact what movies and TV shows get made now. Shows like The Pitt (which won the Emmy for best series this year) might not even get a second season now or might not have even been made at all under Netflix.

That’s fine. Then don’t go out to eat anymore. Make everything from home. No more fast food. No more Texas Roadhouse or whatever frickass corporate restaurants people eat at these days.

Yeah, that's never happened before where networks cancel awesome, critically acclaimed shows.

I swear I don't remember you being this stupid.
Going out to eat may be worth it for some people. Some people may much rather spend $100 on a nice meal than at a movie theater. You keep arguing (stupidly) about "Neanderthals takes" while championing going to a movie theater over streaming at home (old experience vs. new experience). You're the one arguing about movie theaters dying out while stealing money from their pockets by sneaking in candy and not supporting them by buying concessions. You're the one in here screaming at me and RT about "affordability" and being "cheap fricks" yet you sneak in candy to save money.
Look, people can disagree with my or RT's opinion in here, that's fine (and the downvotes support that

No, it didn't go over my head. I'm saying that it would just be more of the same. Networks and production companies have always made dumb decisions with stuff like that.

that's good news. I hate the netflix model of throwing a ton of shite against the wall, such long breaks between the good shows, and inexplicably cancelling them before they get too expensive
works for hem but would hate to see a ton of valuable IP at WB fall victim to it
