True story, making Ellie gay was the first creative decision Druck made after his buddy walked. He created the Left Behind DLC for that express purpose
Bruce Straley worked on the Left Behind DLC the same as he did the orginal game. didnt leave naughty dog until 3 years (2017) after Left Behind was released (July 2014).

You are actually correct. Left behind was the one Staley wasn't allowed story input, leading to his walking. He did finish it, and did promos. Druck wanted free reign so his new buddy was a complete yes man. . .and also added Haley Gross to ink his excesses.
EVEN THEN, his yes men had to stop him from killing off Ellie.
I'll give you that one. I was wrong on the timing.

Should caption it to say "I'm going to be a Dad"

Thats ironic. How it really works here is "oh no, someone said something good about the thing we were all hating on! Quick, to arms! Downvote him!"

It's cute that you think you have some sort of ownership over any of this just because "you were around when it happened". Well, so was I. And in real time,
I think it's cute that some of y'all get so up in arms over someone else's story/idea/creation as if you should have any say whatsoever.
You misapprehend the dynamic between artist and fan. You might as well just feed your preferences into ChatGPT and generate the shite you want to see, because watching the commercial output is obviously negatively affecting you and your ilk.

Did views of TLOU S2's finale compare with S1?
How did game sales of TLOU Part 2 compare with Part 1?
Just answer, please.

The old gaming mantra goes: Art exists because of the artist and the consumer. Franchises exist because of the fans.

The idea that only those who agree with the 'artist' can have an opinion is laughable. And notably found in those with soft, delicate wrists.
The critic has existed for as long as there's BEEN an artist. But this goes well beyond plunging sales and attacking fans, this also has to do with a miserable sack that is Neil Druckmann who went out his way to destroy detractors for telling the truth.
Seeing him exit this steaming pile so he can go focus more attention to his next steaming pile of woke refuse is poetic justice.

The first game was a masterpiece. It took a reluctant father figure that wanted nothing to do with protecting a little girl after losing his own daughter all the way to literally sacrificing whats left of the human race to save her. It was emotionally well thought out, and the gameplay was tense and violent and didnt sugar coat an apocalypse.
The second game turned all the good will from the first on its head by introducing the SJW tranny shite, and basically showing the duality between Abby and Joel by having her become a surrogate protector for the tranny enemy cultist. They basically just turned Abby into Joel. Ellies story is killing a hundred people on a grand quest for revenge that she ultimately determines just isn't worth it.
Anyone claiming TLOU part 2 is a masterpiece either didnt play or didnt understand the impact of the first.

I admit I never played either, but the numbers don't change just because I don't have a PS4 or 5.
The numbers don't lie. Pt 2 did nearly 1/2 the sales as Pt. 1.

I understand that. If you didnt play it then you just didnt spend the hours with the characters like I did.
The reality is if we look at the TV show in a vacuum and pretend there never was a game, it's just a bad show. The show exists because the first game struck a real chord when it came to storytelling and the extremely negative feedback for the second game is because it deviated from that to score points with an audience that wasn't even the target audience of the game, like so many other things.
What the frick business does jaguar have bud lighting itself? Its their decision, but the majority of people arent fricking Trans and dont feel like it advances society. Cold hard fact. Gay things aren't marketed to gay people, theres just no money in it. They market to straight people that want to be supportive.
Huge fricking airball on a beloved IP.

Indeed it is big dog.
I guess I just havent had anyone point out to me how part 2 advanced the story in a meaningful way. Its not easy for sequels to do and thats an uphill battle in and of itself. Godfather 2, aliens etc.
But if you played part 2 were you satisfied with ellie and Abby on the beach? Did it not feel hollow after the gut punch of the first ending?
Was it all just so ellie could turn into what joel was between the events of day 1 apocalypse and when he eventually met ellie?

I really just didnt even want them to have that fight. Ellie paid way too high of a price in pursuit of her revenge.
I wanted Ellie to let Abby go.
The game was a gut punch for sure though. I just remember sitting at the main menu screen afterwards.
Joel was the best character in both games, the flashbacks in part 2 were great. I don't think he wouldve wanted Ellie to go back in search of Abby at the end.

Then I suppose you got your payoff and its why you aren't as down on part 2 as I am.
In the first you had no vaccine, but the man got his daughter back. Or at least, someone he saw that way. There was loss and a payoff. Joel came full circle.
Part 2 I didnt see the payoff. Only loss. Not even the satisfaction of the two characters coming to terms with one another's journey. No dialogue between them that acknowledges they both lost father's. No irony realization that Abby had basically adopted Lev and protected her against those that would hurt her, just like Joel did with ellie.
I stared at the menu for a while as well when I finished but in a "thats it?" way. Felt like they should've just had us play as Bill and Frank or Tommy

I wish we would've got multiplayer for part 2 because i missed out on it for the original and heard good things.
The no return mode on part II remastered is fun and in almost that same setup multiplayer couldve worked.

Bro that’s why it’s so good bro. It’s super deep bro. Like humans can be worse than the zombies bro. Sometimes vengeance isn’t worth it bro.

Listening to the podcast last season made it seem like Druckmann wasnt as involved as s1. At least he wasnt on set as much.
Even happier that I haven't watched this show.

Oooo, this is a fun attempted gotcha.
Tlou 1 sold 8 million copies on the ps3. Google ai will tell you 30 million, because it's counting the re-release on ps4 ahead of part 2, the remake on ps5, and the numbers sold during the first season of the show. Obviously those numbers count, but that 30 is pretty misrepresentative of the initial popularity.
Google ai will tell you tlou 2 sold 10 million, which it did, when it was released. So it initially sold better than the original. In the past 8 years. Witha remastered on ps5, it has sold several million more. Reportedly sold 2 million units during season 2 of the show.
Tldr: the argument you guys are trying to have is fukking stupid. And none of you have the ability to actually search up wtf you're talking about.
The game sales of either game have dick all to do with the viewership numbers or the show.
