I think Project Free TV has movies, although I only use it for TV shows. I would look into just downloading them from torrents and burning them onto disc.

Companies need more money from people who choose to follow the rules to combat piracy. Pretty simple.

Sounds like a declining revenue problem, not a rising cost problem. (Ignore this statement. I misunderstood your comment to mean rising cost to movie studios.)

As for the cost to consumer, how bad have movie prices gotten? Have they exceeded the general rate of inflation?

While I get your argument, I don't have time to back any of it up with links / stats. But I will say this as a logically thinking human being: If you don't think that piracy/unauthorized use has had a significant impact on the entertainment / movie industry, you are severely mistaken.

And it works like any other business. You have to charge more to recoup the costs of "breakage"
