I agree tho. They were all like aw Toby you have to come... Then nothing

Toby's thing was to have friends and be accepted finally. He has always been an outcast. Them begging him to come gave him his friends and acceptance.

yeah I don't think the ending would have been nearly as good had the farm been picked up.

anyone wonder what Michael's job in Colorado is?

So if The Farm got picked up, does Jim stay in Scranton and become manager?

I think someone posted a link earlier in the thread with a quote saying if Dwight had left, Nellie would have stepped in to his shoes.

Dwight wasn't manager at the time he was set to start his show. He was never going to be manager. Writers would have probably kept andy as manager until the end

"Part of the plan was that Rainn would leave halfway through the year," Daniels says. Had that happened, Tate's Nellie would have "stepped into those Dwight shoes," he adds. Cousin Mose would have become a traveling salesman, as Schur is busy executive producing Parks and Rec. "Mose would load up an ox cart with beets and go to roadside farms all over the state of Pennsylvania and be selling the Schrute family beets." And Fischer says she's certain that "at some point Jim and Pam would have visited."

I know he wouldn't have been manager yet, but maybe that had already been planned? I don't know, when I first read the quote I wasn't sure what they meant. I'm just not sure what else it could've meant other than that.

I have been a very harsh critic of the Office post-season 4. Season 5 was painful, obviously, and I only made it through half of season 6 before throwing my hands up and cursing the rest of the series.

This whole season I have wanted to jump in and watch, but I just couldn't do it. I didn't trust the writers and I figured it would end terribly.

Then I watched the finale and my heavens that was great. The Office was THE show that got me back into Network sitcoms post-Seinfeld, and everyone can universally acknowledge that Seasons 2-4 were one of the best 3 season runs of a show in history. The finale was everything I could have wanted it to be. I didn't even know a third of the characters, but for the characters I cared about, I was happy with how they ended it. I'll probably end up going back and watching the last few seasons, but wanted to add my 2 cents while the iron was hot.

to the Office and thanks for Parks & Rec

I just started getting in to this, knowing the Office was about to end. I'm liking it so far, halfway through the first season. I've been told that it only gets better.

Just like Season 1 of The Office was solid, 2-3 get the momentum going, 4-5 are just as good unlike the Office. P&R has been arguably more consistent

Just had my mind blown @ 3am. Finally watched the finale and it was one of the greatest endings to a series ever. But how the hell am I just finding out Creed was the lead guitar/vocals in The Grass Roots? They were huge in the 60s.

Finally got around to watching it and thought it was a very satisfying conclusion. Wrapped things up nicely and hit some really nice emotional notes.

Only minor nitpick is that that some of the stuff was too conveniently wrapped up like Nellie and the baby.

I actually wish it was longer. Would have loved for them to have delved more deeply into what some of them have been up to in that year that passed. The reunion panel scene I felt could have been more revealing as well.

But, again, minor nitpicks.

Watching season 2 again. Anyone realize Amy Adams was Jim's girlfriend in Booze Cruise?

It's been a couple of years since I watched season 2. I guess I never noticed.

Finally watched the finale, all in all, it was a fitting end to the show. They have been going the emotional route for awhile now so I figured that is how it would end. Glad Pam finally came around to moving and even acknowledged that she has a history of taking forever to make decisions.

The Grass Roots have a fascinating history in that the band was literally owned by two producer/songwriters. Creed was not an original member but was with the group for its biggest hits. A number of groups assumed the name, The Grass Roots, over the years including The 13th Floor which Creed played in. Creed left because the members were not allowed to record their own material.

The great keyboardist Larry Knechtel was an original member.
