I have no clue about the historical accuracies/innacuarcaies and what not, but it was very very clear that the film was written and made by a bunch of anti-Napoleonic Brits.
The whole thing about all the people that died under his command like he was fricking Stalin or something was just so bizarre.
Of course lots of soldiers died under him, that's what happened in every war in the 18th and 19th century.
Protrating him as half retarded poon hound is just kind of crazy. It's clear Scott hated Napoleon, just like all other Brits.

Napoleon was a piece of shite that killed a generation of Frenchmen.
Uh...who was responsible for killing who? The British largely drove the conflicts on the Continent that Napoleon fought throughout his 10-year reign as emperor. Of the seven coalition wars waged against France from 1792-1815, only two of them were started by Napoleon.

frick this movie. You can tell its written by british revisionists, mixed with American Leftist garbage.
Yep.
But, it's very tough to find any honest and balanced history of Napoleon written in the English language. It's been that way since Napoleon walked the earth.

You started off with a misreading of the OP so I'm kinda scared to read any further.

I love when the Poli board takes over other boards. It’s so much fun when someone doesn’t discuss movies/tv unless they’re triggered. Yes, I check poster history often.
In fairness, you cannot deny that politics has invaded movies (and all other forms of media) in a new and much more pronounced way in contemporary society.
It’s impossible to discuss most movies without politics being part of the discussion, almost always to lament the unfortunate and unnecessary inclusion of politics in the film.

I bet you think it’s fine for all nations except western democracies. Are you upset by the “ethno-nationalism” of Japan, China, South Africa, Palestine, Latin American countries, Indian nations, etc, etc?

I still post on here probably more than any of the other boards, but this board has went downhill over the past 5 years or so. It used to be hands down the best board on the site for just good, fun debates. It's basically just a mini poli board now.
It's sad that so many of the longtime M/TV board posters have retired and others that barely post at but it's easy to see why. Honestly it could go back to being a great board if it got rid of a handful of posters that turn pretty much everything in to a poli debate.

Whatever his internal motivations, his actions speak for themselves.

Bc the entertainment industry began injecting politics and advocacy into everything

One astounding thing they managed to do was completely eliminate Catholicism and the Catholic Church from the movie, despite that being one of the things Napoleon was most involved with.
