Name this Matthew Lillard movie...

He's a side/main character in this movie around the time Scream came out I'm pretty sure.
His character was a member of the old MTV reality show "The Real World", or maybe "Road Rules".
He slept with / dated the main character's girlfriend while on the show and I think he comes to town to see the girl again (or something).
I remember a scene with him on the show, pretty sure it was "The Real World", where he cups a fart in his hands and takes a big whiff and says, "mmm... smells like roses!" and continues to throw it in a cast mate's direction. He kind of played the hippy type.

i like this movie too. really captures the late 90s, early 00s zeitgeist.
when i first saw this i swore it was called "the curve", but then for years i always saw it called "dead man's curve" - turns out it was released under both names.
