Stephen Lang as Stonewall Jackson in Gods and Generals LINK

Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias (even though she "claims" Smyrna, GA)
The worst is Amy Brenneman in Heat. Just awful

Ewan McGregor in Big Fish did a solid job with an Alabama accent.
Kevin Spacey in House of Cards pisses me off, because he's doing a lowcountry accent, despite his character being from the Appalachian-lite of Gaffney. Doesn't fit.

worst nominee - Daniel Craig in Knives Out, but I still enjoyed the movie.

I haven't seen HOC, but I like his accent in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

I think half these examples were meant to be over the top. I really don’t know what people want with southern accent-there are myriad so what sounds disingenuous to one sounds more authentic to another. I also think many people have no clue how they themselves sound. I am also shocked when I hear my own voice on audio. Most will say I do not have much of an accent, but it sounds quite very much like I do on the audio. It also depends on how long you have been around Southerners. My sister came to visit me in college once and I heard her asking someone my whereabouts from down the hallway, and I was astounded by how thick her accent sounded, when I remembered her sounding much less southern when we were around each other all the time.

Bingo. Worst by far. Come to think of it, NOBODY does a good Louisiana accent (there are about 10 from which to choose) in any movie. We’re not 1800s Georgia.

One that sticks out to me, is Double Jeopardy. There was a whole NOLA thing towards the end of the movie, and the accents were terrible. Some of the worst I've heard.
Bruce Greenwood & Michelle Stafford - absolute worst NOLA/Southern accent
Even Steel Magnolia's was bad.

Al Pacino playing a Louisiana detective in Hangman.

1883 girl. I am only 6 episodes in, please no spoilers. But that accent is absolutely horrible. It doesn't even match the accent of her family. It's like she has a speech impediment. I am southern born and raised and I need subtitles to understand her retarded missives.

That would be the lowcountry accent he talked about. Spacey does it well. He's saying in HOC it's not geographically correct- it should have been more of an appalachian accent.

Worst: Brad Pitt as Aldo Raine in The Inglorious Bastards
To be fair I thought Aldo was written and performed to purposely sound over the top and exaggerated accent wise. But I could be wrong

Pretty much every southern role played by Jodie Foster.
