I enjoy remakes. I get frustrated when one bombs, or there is too much political correctness pushed, or they destroy a story line. But I always try to go in with an open mind and if is done right, I enjoy a good remake.

I really want to see a current version of The Most Dangerous Game. It was always one of my favorite short stories growing up and its been a while since they made a movie (1932).

The Last Starfighter

Krull

Flight of the Navigator

Buck Rogers

Flash Gordon

Pretty much anything that was a good film where modern Special Effects would elevate the film.

Unfortunately, any remake nowadays won't be true to the original casting. The SJW's will make sure they have all the diverse groups representing

Not sure how they would cast it...but The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance...

I would love to see a great Western...and that is my favorite.

If they tried, they should do it in black and white.

There are some films that are damn near perfect and couldn't be improved on. Liberty Valance is one of those. While I imagine it could be remade with a fine cast of contemporary actors, I just don't think any would hold a candle to John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Lee Marvin.

I would watch a remake but this is a hard one to improve upon the original.

I've heard rumors of a new Starship Troopers being in the works, but it's supposed to be a closer adaptation of the book, not a remake of the movie. The movie is basically a satire of the book, but I love them both so I would be fine either way.

Yeah I’d prefer it be a fresh look at the book. Although satire, being outrageous helps prove the main points of the book.

My instinct is to agree with you, but on second thought, the characters in the original were kept fairly 2 dimensional.

It would a great achievement, but I think it would be possible to bring a little more life to the characters and contextualize them in a remake. An good example of this is the remake of 3:10 to Yuma.

Imagine Christian Bale as Ransom Stoddard, Russel Crowe as Tom Doniphon, Kelly MacDonald as Vera Stoddard, and Javier Bardem as Liberty Valence.

Now that is a movie I would pay to see.

This is tough because I don't feel like we have the level of actors that movies old enough to be remade had.

I didn't hate the Ghostbusters remake personally, but a better Ghostbusters remake with a strong cast that spins off into a franchise with a couple more movies would be awesome. I just don't feel like we have actors that could do it justice today.

I would love that lineup...and was thinking about Anthony Mackie as Pompey (he was a silent badass sidekick). Maybe Oliver Platt as Dutton Peabody...I have no idea who could ever play Link Appleyard anywhere close to what Andy Devine did with that role. Maybe Stephen Root or Steve Buschemi could pull it off, but probably not.

I tend to hold to original classics with reverence. The "2 dimensional" aspect of the characters was part of the charm.

I'm not sure I would cast the film in the same way. Ransom Stoddard was actually supposed to be a much younger character, but Jimmy Stewart was know to take on roles designed for much younger actors such as the Charles Lindbergh Story.

Kelly MacDonald would be a fine Hallie Stoddard (Vera Miles is the Actress) but I would like someone in the late 20's -early 30's.

I see Nick Jonas as a young Ransom Stoddard being a idealist young attorney bringing law and order to the wild west.

I'm thinking Hugh Jackman as Ransom Stoddard. He's an older, more seasoned Cowboy who is in love with Hallie.

As I said, I like your Kelly MacDonald pick, but actresses such as Blake Lively, Margot Robie, Kate Bosworth and Elizabeth Olsen come to mind.

Damn..now you have me wanting a remake...
