Wu is actually a genetically modified raptohuman and will live forever

WE just got back from seeing it.
It was decent. I think it was hard to get into for me due to it having all new characters, But the new dinos made it worth while.
Not a big plot. Big scary dinosaur gets loose, everybody running away from it.
But I liked it and would recommend seeing it.

In the JP movie, he says he is going to go back to the mainland on the boat.

That scene was pretty badass, the entire final act was sheer awesome

Throughout the JP series you always hear about the Raptor speed and how they run. This was the first one to show it. Like everyone, when I saw the original trailer of Pratt riding side by side with running Raptors I thought... really? But that 30-40 second scene of the raptors being let lose to find the big dinosaur was great.
eta: And the dino attacks (on both people and other dinos) were vicious.

why all the hate for the Spinosaurus? There were so many reasons to hate JP3 that the spino didn't even register as a complaint in my mind.

I agree wih almost everything you said and how you said it.
I think the biggest weakness was the ending and how basically the 20k or whatever people on the island are no longer a plot concern. I felt like there was more movie left about the general population getting involved again. That apparently was open and shut with the avian species scene.

I'm sorry but I hated the spinosaurus. Seeing it kill the trex pissed me off. But agree that it was only one part of a list of reasons I hated the third one.

My favorite subtle nod to the original that I noticed.
When the Asian asset control team guy picked up the flesh embedded tracker and blood dropped into his hand, one drop slid off his hand one way and the 2nd drop a different way. Think back to the original to see if you remember the connection ...

I didn't like the ending right after walking out the movies but once I thought back to dialogue earlier in the film it made sense. I was upset how the super Dino I-Rex would be whooping up on T. rex and then the tables turned and he gets eaten by a Mosasaurus, but upon further reflection on the movie, they state early on that I Rex had never been outside of his habitat and was finding his place on the food chain. Makes sense that he wouldn't be aware of the dangers of the water.

Also, the T-Rex IS the original T-Rex from Jurassic Park. Hence, its 22 years older than it was from the 1st movie. At the end, you can see the scars from the I-Rex fight as well as the Raptor fight from Jurassic Park.
Everything about the final fight was just awesome

I'll go ahead and just be the lone voice of dissension. The flick wasn't good. It was overacted -- Pratt and Howard were laughably bad. And fine, you expect a degree of cheese going in. I certainly did. But that was some funky bleu and just beyond what I could stomach.
And just how absurd so much of it was. Yeah, sure, we spliced in 83 different types of DNA, regardless of whether that was viable, but assuming it was, we just so happened to splice in all the shite that would give it a super invisible cloaking device and blah blah blah. Raptor training, okay, I'll buy it, fine. But then let's put a 16 year old in a garage with a jeep that hasn't run in 10+ years, but it's cool, just change the battery, it'll be fine! And of course it has gas. Duh. It was just ridiculous and way beyond the point of which I could suspend disbelief. There are plenty more examples. And it's a shame, I love the original. Even beyond nostalgia purposes I love it. I couldn't do it as a mindless popcorn flick. It was too stupid.
Guess I'm in the minority. Oh well.
ETA And predictable as fuuuuuuuck. The only scene that came as a surprise is when the prison guard from Orange is the New Black DIDN'T kiss Nick from New Girl.

It's a summer movie about dinosaurs man. They had guys going to try and stop a 50 ft monster with tasers and a net gun, and a pig outran a f*cking pack of hungry raptors. I really don't think too many people give a sh*t about these things while watching this kind of movie.

I think you'll be the first of many. I don't think there will be a middle ground with this movie.
Some people will love it, while some will hate it.
Some people can look through the extreme cheese and somewhat bad acting better than others. I honestly didn't think the acting was bad at all. Pratt was good not great, Howard was bad at first but got a lot better. It was more so the writing than the acting

I was pleasantly surprised by the child actors. Some of their story-line felt generic and the younger one was a little annoying but I thought the older one actually did a very good job
Yup the older one has been in quite a few things I believe. He played the nephew in that show Melissa and Joey....I felt he was easily the best actor in that show the few times I watched.
Younger one was annoying I agree....but wasn't he supposed to be young and kinda whiney? Maybe he nailed it

The original Jurassic Park had a fair amount of cheese too fwiw.
To me, reading your post leads me to believe you went in specifically with the intention of nitpicking the shite out of everything rather than just enjoying the movie for what it is.
