You should be, that's awesome for your son!
eta- I can't stand Zahn's character on Treme, but he seems like a really cool guy irl.

Your kid did great, Parrot. Could you elaborate on how he got the part?
Regarding Treme in general, my opinion has done a complete 180. I stuck with the show soley because I am from New Orleans and thought it was cool to see my hometown on HBO on a nightly basis. But this season has taken a turn for the better.
There is actually genuine plot and character development in this season. It's as if Simon used the first two seasons to provide the feel for New Orleans and now he is focusing on developing the characters within the context of that 'feel.'
I, for one, am excited for the fourth season of Treme (which they are currently filming).

That's probably because the real Davis is unbearable IRL.

Awesome for your kid.
Show is just terrible....I thought it would go places after the second half of last season, but season 3 was just awful. Literally nothing worth a shite happens. I kept waiting for something to go down in the montage at the end, but nothing.

I can see how you can say that for the first two season but how can you honestly say that for season 3? Without major spoiling, you had an important character get cancer, big time NOPD corruption development, the clusterfrick that was NOAH and a damn bar fire.
You couldn't have watched this season.

It has gotten a lot better this season.
Have they ever developed a plot for the show? Or are they adding more character development?

Actually, Zahn is doing a then, spot on imitation of Davis Rogan. Thankfully, fame has actually made Davis much more likable.

Tom McDermott is a local piano player who appears regularly as himself in Treme. He was asked in early 2010 if he knew any teenage boys who could play "James Booker style piano". Tom had taught Jazz piano to my son for a while at that point, so he recommended him. He auditioned by playing "Tipitina" by Professor Longhair and got a role in season 1, which he had to turn down due to a prior commitment (He's a cross country runner and there was a state meet in Natchitoches the same day). Tim Robbins is actually who cast him and directed that episode. They said they'd "keep him in mind" for a future part.
Two years later we get a call for a better role--the one you saw last night. He got that one and rolled with it!

Spent the day with Rogan during the filming...seemed like an OK guy. Zahn was a bit more standoffish. Talked with Rogan and Kermit all day.
