We used to (WWII and even Vietnam) see movies that encompassed particular battles that the US won in war time. Perhaps society has changed and certainly hollywood does not really like to honor our military anymore, however if it were to I could see movies about...

The Battle of Fallujah - many remarkable stories from this battle -- including a book by a physician in the thick of said battle with the marines.

Lone Survivor - Story of Marcus Luttrell and his three SEALs in Afghanistan. The book reads like an action movie in some ways.

I'm kind of glad the Confederacy of Dunces movie has never happened. I don't think it would translate well to film. If they did do it, I'd like to see it as an indie with unknown actors.

I'd like to see a super epic of Moby Dick or something based on Napoleon. An HBO series of either of these would be even better. I'm thinking Moby Dick done like Deadwood or Napoleon done like Rome.

Ian McShane as Ahab! I just blew my own mind!

I would love to see Scarpetta brought to the screen, especially the middle part of that series when Benson is "killed" etc. Lifetime did a couple of made for tv movies based on the two books of the Win Garrano series. I also think the Andy Brasil triolgy of Hornet's Nest/Southern Cross/Isle of Dogs could be done pretty well.

Something dealing with the American Revolution would be good, but it would be hard to do. There are so many stories that you would really have to focus on one little aspect of it - maybe Valley Forge or the siege of Boston. When Turner made Gettysburg it was done fairly well because it focused on three days and one general area. When they went back and made Gods & Generals it suffered because they tried to cover the "highlights" of two years and multiple battles.

The Lynyrd Skynyrd biopic.
I am astounded that has yet to be made.
That would be a red-state Box office Bonanza.
i think i'll start a treatment this weekend in fact.

I'm shocked that no one has offered Chuck Norris a parody movie based on the Chuck Norris facts.

As cheesy as this sounds, if done right, I think it could be hilarious. Just one of those stupid movies that are meant to be stupid, like a Hot Rod type movie.

The Hobbit would be the ultimate, but unfortunately the studio is having budgeting issues with the production so it is on hold right now. I hope they don't wait too long because Gandalf ain't getting any younger!
