Brian’s Song
•Old Yeller
•Saving Private Ryan (in particular: “I’m a school teacher.” Still gets me.
Schindler’s List. (Saw it once. I won’t watch it again. The portrayal of the banality of evil is overwhelming.)

I cannot watch that damn movie since having my daughter. The wife and I were watching it one night when my daughter was about 6 or 7 years old and Bruce and Liv talking to each other before he sacrifices himself just killed me. I had to leave the damn room because I was crying like a baby.

The better lump in the throat scene was winds in his hair saying he will always be a friend to dances with wolves.
I agree. This scene always gets me to stop what I’m doing if I have Dances with Wolves on in the background. Perfect ending to their relationship and well earned throughout the movie.

Watership Down.

Animated with a water color look.

Certainly not for children.

It’s John Williams fault. That score cuts right to my heart.

My default answer outside of the Red Fern types for this topic is Green Mile when they execute Coffey. Especially the “ Please boss, don't put that thing over my face, don't put me in the dark. I's afraid of the dark.” and Barry Pepper balling his eyes out.

If you ain’t got feelz for that, you may not have a soul.

That was a great film. That beautiful score needed to be played louder.

Steel Magnolias. In particular the graveside scene. In that same note it’s the wildest ride from sobbing to absolutely laughing your arse off

Having lost a young brother, it’s rough. Aside from the more popular quotes, the Father’s sermon later in life about Paul is what is most poignant to me these days I think:

quote:

Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true, we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding.

A tear up at a lot of movies. Rarely cry. But I counted tearing up in these so I’m likely missing a lot.
