I'm newish and I would have voted for #2, some drifters voted for #2, and some old timers voted for #1.. it's really just preference.

Curious for those voting #2, what's the point in changing the title at all if you're only going to change one of the Os to a movie reel? Multiple voting threads across weeks just to change that? Pretty pointless IMO.

I vote #2 by a ton.
And I realize we aren't really voting on the colors part, but I like them in this order of the #2 logo with the red background, and then the dark gray background.

simplicity.. it had a slight flare, while still keeping a piece of the original. This also means a change in color, either way, some people don't mind the simplicity of what we have now, just want new colors.

How distracting could it possibly be? Is your Movie/TV board posting experience going to be forever spoiled due to the superior logo winning this contest? As far as quality is concerned, the two aren't even comparable; #1 is extremely well-made.
Simplicity can be great, but #2 just isn't very appealing to me.
