Well, for one...the "Hollywood sign" logo just looks weird IMO. It doesn't look like the Hollywood sign (although I get it and think whoever made it did a solid job).
2 is just sharper and much more clean. And it's only a subtle difference with the film reel (which can cover movies and TV). Changing too much about the logo takes away from it I think. Changing that one letter into a reel encompasses everything about this board in one simple step.
Not to mention that Hollywood isn't the end all, be all of movies and TV. You have NY (which is pretty huge), other places around the world, etc.

Cleaner? #1 has ALL kinds of shite going on with it. There's nothing "clean" about it at all...it's a very busy image.
#1 sucks, but I understand that people will like it. But don't say that you like it because it's clean, because it's not (unless I'm completely misreading what you mean by clean).

1. The file is clean, actually cleaned it up more than I had to, converted it to the size it had to be to actually be on the website, ad de-colored everything (the tiger was grey when I got it)
2. People are voting for it because they like it, nobody is "not" voting for it because it "doesn't look clean." Stouts logo actually had a higher percentage of votes the last time we had this vote than it does this time. #1 is only winning by like 3% this time, the last time we had this vote it was ahead by 14%.
3. Both photos has been formatted for web and devices, which is one of the cleanest formats you can present on the web.
