A little more new, don't look under the bed. It's the one about the boogey man. That dude freaked me out.

I wouldn't say most terrifying but the Bishop or whatever he was from Hunchback had to be one of the most screwed up. He is in love with the gypsy, he keeps Quasi Moto like some kind of pet, and he had delusions which eventually lead to his death.

Someone needs to do a psychological profile of him.

The Horned King was so scary that it made The Black Cauldron Disney's first cartoon with a PG rating so he wins IMO

I agree with Frolo...dude burned Paris to the ground and murdered hundreds for a sexual conquest.

Killed an innocent mother and kept her child as a pet
locked away from society.

Hide his monstrous persona under the cloak of religious and moral quide.

Self righteous yet pure evil.

I also like the selection of the Pinocchio villains... real terror is always scarier than mystical never gonna happen type things.

The Black Hole. I forgot about that one. Definitely thought it was awesome as a kid.

Yeah, as far as just complete monsters is concerned, the Coachman is a firm #1. The only act I can think of that' as close to being as evil as that is Maleficent cursing Aurora to die simply over not being invited to her Christening.

Those would be 3 and 4 respectively for me. There is just quite a bit of character to where you have to respect them.

I nominate the owl from "Rockadoodle" and the Bad guy from "The Black Cauldron"

And little mermaid. Go read all the originals.

This is exactly why I thought it was funny and silly for people to complain about the new Maleficent story changing up her background.

The fairy tales these are based on are all totally fricked up and were all heavily Disneyfied for the classic cartoon films.

In the old Italian variation of Sleeping Beauty, she isn't saved by a kiss. The prince fricking rapes her in her sleep, she gets impregnated w/twins, remains asleep all through pregnancy, and then finally wakes up once one of the kids sucks the poison out of her finger.

Pinocchio really is a creepy and disturbing film to watch. I don't believe it would be made as it was back then in today's times.

If I have kids, I probably won't let them watch this, not with a villain that's so real and relatable to the real world.

frick that let em see it.

then they will never take candy from a random old man!

I actually have a theory that if you showed Requiem For A Dream to every 6th grade kid drug use among youths would plummet to historic lows.

Idk about scariest but Scar from TLK was and is my favorite. He was ruthless but had very clear motives. He was bad in a believable (for a cognizant cartoon lion) way. Although I realize he's just basically Claudius from Hamlet.

Maximilian the red cyborg from The Black Hole. Scared the shite out of me as a kid. Not animated, but it WAS Disney. That and the fact that all the robots were really just the original crew with horrible operations performed on them... wow, super dark for a kids movie.
