One of the best examples to me has to be Brigadier General Francis Xavier Hummel, you've seen the story and know what he wanted, and why.

Also Roy Batty from Blade Runner, I don't fault him for being what he is.

Yeah, you're almost rooting for General Hummel in The Rock.

John wasn't the story villain though, the hospital staff was more so imo.

Well the most obvious is probably Frankenstein.

You could argue that...but "the Monster" is portrayed as the Villain.

And he does kill a little girl.

He's up there, I can see it. It's not his fault for not understanding this world he was thrown into. Stepping back, Roy Batty is very similar.

No he doesn't.

She landed safely in bed after flying off the see-saw.

Prince Nuada is easily one of the best comic movie villains of all time. Even calling him a villain is a stretch as he's more of a misunderstood protagonist.

TGOAT: vegeta in the freiza saga

Norman Osborne in thy first Toby Spiderman

Dexter's brother the Ice Truck Killer

Gollum from LOTR

Zod in Man of Steel

Magneto in pretty much anything portrayed by McKellen or Fassbender if you count him as villain, especially DoFP
