Even if you haven't played MK since 1995, and know nothing about the franchise..that was still a shitty film. Thats even worse, the actual MK story between Scorpion and Sub-Zero was better. People deserve to be updated correctly, with the actual source material. For once...even in 1995 it was off.

Bi Han was so much more important than this in the MK world. Quan Chi needed to be a part of the story, that should have focused on Hanzo, Bi Han, the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei.

Go watch the MK 9 play-through if you want the legit story.

Goro has been beating the shite out of people for at least 500 years. He has about a 2 foot height advantage on a 6' tall man and a few hundred pounds weight advantage.

But yeah..imagine Chong Li losing his 2nd fight in the Kumite. And Frank has to fight that guy in the gold pants.

At the start of 9, Shao Kahn wins and initiates Armageddon. In a moment of desperation Raiden sends all of his memories into his past self right as Shao Kahn delivers the killing blow with the warning, "He Must Win".

I would have much rather seen a movie that focused on these two characters. I would not have cared if they deviated from the game story or not. Jist make it compelling. They were the most interesting part of the new film. The rest was pretty terrible. The dialog, the delivery of lines was at times porno film quality. There were touches here and there that as along time fan of Mortal Kombat, made me smile. Those were few and far between though.

Man the acting in this movie

The best parts of the movie were by far the beginning and ending, with Hanzo and Bi-Han, then Scorpion and Subzero fights. Those shits were absolutely epic. I could watch that again and again. My only gripe here is that they felt the need to have Cole join Scorpion in taking down Subzero. Subzero was absolutely done right in this movie. A pure bad-arse through and through. But still, Scorpion shouldn't need any help in defeating Subzero. Even though he got the final W, I feel like that was a nerf to Scorpion.

Alot of the in between were forgettable. I didn't care about Cole. I still don't. I can only hope he gets killed off in the sequel. My only guess is that the ending of MK11 the entire timeline is reset once again, so Cole will probably be apart of the game series starting with MK12.

Is there no Quan Chi in this? I don't even think they alluded to him. Typically, it's always shown to be Quan Chi behind Bi-Han killing Hanzo's family, but in this it looks like Bi-Han did it just because he felt like it.

I actually didn't mind the arcana thing. It was basically a good explanation for how are these normal human characters with no enhancements supposed to compete with a man who literally could make hale fall from the sky, freeze a firearm, ice daggers, etc. It was a new thing, but again it didn't bother me. I was pissed off seeing Jax tiny robot arms at first. I was thinking the budget was too cheap to get him some real arms. But his real arms did come through and he got a good fatality in.

Looks like Kung Lao and Liu Kang kind of switched spots in this movie. Typically, Liu Kang is the certified bass arse, with Lao in his shadow. Well that was the opposite here. Liu was a scared lil bitch when Subzero came to town.

Kano was the perfect comedic relief I didn't know that I needed. " I'ma stick that sombrero so far up your arse you'll start speaking Spanish.

I hated to see characters such as Mileena, Goro, and Kung Lao get killed off. But as we all know this is MK, characters get brought back all the time. I wanted to see more Mileena just as she was really showing off her teeth, Sonya 1-shotted her, WTF!

Saw a couple easter eggs for Nightwolf, Katana, Kotal Kahn, Shao Kahn, Bo Rai Cho. I hope they'll include Nightwolf, but at the same time I'm nervous the sjws may come out and try to cancel the film. I do know this, can we please get a Shao Kahn that's not a midget, please and thank you.

I knew Cole was talking about picking up Johnny Cage the moment he said he was going to Hollywood.
